Club Europe Catering Guide 2017.

This thread outlines the new arrangements for Club Europe catering, introduced on Sunday 26 March 2017 and due to end on Tuesday 11 September 2018, based on 3 zones. A new Club Europe catering product is due to be launch on Wednesday 12 September 2018, and this is based on 4 bands. The main information piece - in terms of timings and the distance zones for the meals can be found in post 1. The following cross references the photos below against the matrix of options. In addition to the photos, some FTers have written extensively on their experiences so there is more to this thread than the pictures. Also note that there was an increase in food offered on some combinations shortly after the start-up, so the more recent photos may be the best place to start. The previous shorthaul catering guide, now locked but which had the previous 4 band system, is to be found here.

Numbers relate to the post number. Vegetarian means the alternative option provided as standard rather than the pre-ordered versions - which are VLML (Lacto-ovo), AVML (Asia) and VGML (Vegan) . There are differences between the offering in/out of LHR, LGW, LCY+STN. Last update: 833

Note posts before 1-832 are typically the April 2017 menu. 833 and above is from the menu for May 2017.

BA808 LHR-CPH, 22.00ish departure, Kosher meal again - l do enjoy these, particularly the bread

Same delightful cranberry, onion, herb quinoa salad before but with a hot "smoked" salmon fillet this time. The sauce on the fish was supposedly lemon but definitely more orange and complemented okay - not overpowering, not too little either. A properly soft piece of challah, too! Dessert was the same custard-like substance with apple-ish beneath, sweet but not overly so (I'm actually missing the frosting like chocolate l had that first time - it's something in often in the mood for but just wasn't that day)

I liked this better in the previous iteration but this was also devoured.

On a side note it was one of the worst crews I have had in a long time, just closed curtain, no refills proactive or asking how the meal was after I left it all...
I took the BA461 a few weeks ago and got an amazing meal. Starter was veal followed by beef and the chocolate bomb.

It's a bit of a luck of draw I reckon. I usually really enjoy the kosher meal on the long flight segment, this one not so much... I suppose crew made the flight less enjoyable too...

Belowis the vegetarian breakfast option on my flight from LHR to ATH on Friday.
Omlette with chives, hashbrown, aspargus, tomatoes and mushrooms. It was very good.

I am flying from ATH to LHR on Monday. Does anyone know what is the current meal rotation for that?
I wonder if it still changes by month or is it totally random now....?

Thanks

The rotation process hasn't changed so depending on flight timings it will either by breakfast on the 08:00 service, thereafter the current menu is chicken supreme or grilled cod.

I must say I find this a very poor effort for a vegan breakfast . In fact, this is not a breakfast but a vegan dish that they serve regardless of the time of your flight.
BACF does vegan breakfast very well, with baked beans, hash browns, grilled veggies and a beautiful fruit salad.
It is a shame BA does not want to make an effort.

Kosher brunch (again). Different recipe, much less salty smoked salmon with quinoa, dried cranberries, and herbs. Sesame seeded challah was actually soft this time around. Dessert was custard-like in top with a seasoned apple puree something in the bottom. All in all, delicious.
This looks fantastic - any chance they serve the same for breakfast? I'd take that over a soggy full English any day!

Well I agree with you but what should we expect these days? I am happy to have a filling/substantial meal for once! Of course this meal is also used for Asian vegetarian orders. Clearly this is a way to save money.

In the end it is still better than to get served a banana or just fruit!
