BA 747 in Economy - which seat?
Hi Team,
i knew exactly what seats I would choose on a BA 747 in F or J, but I'm flying in Y JFK-LHR in Y and am not sure what to do.
I like leg room so do I chose 28J and have no wall next to me to lean on or do I go for 29K? Is it possible to get out forwards from 29K? Currently in 28J and ExpertFlyer shows 28H as blocked (am Gold) but would it be better to have 29K with J blocked?
What would you do (apart from hope for an upgrade and be thankful that it's not a 787)?!

Yes 28J all day long. I am a frequent Y 747 flyer and this is my preferred seat after 28B. 29K is OK but no access forwards so only choose if 28 not available.

It's definitely doable if you're slim, however there are also posts on Flyertalk from people in 28J complaining about the 29K occupant doing this
The only downside of the 28-seats is that people will sometimes stand around you whilst waiting for the loo.

Related question but for the Super High-J config. Are the bulkhead seats in row 39 & 40 good or bad? Internet advice seems to be conflicting - BA source says restricted legroom.

I was in 40D in February on the Super High-J. I'm 6-foot and didn't find the legroom restrictive. And I could stretch my legs a good deal (although not quite fully) before touching the bulkhead. As with all bulkhead seats, you get much better knee-room, but lose the ability to fully stretch out under the seat in front of you. Not really a problem for me, as my usual LH Y routine is to watch a box-set with a walk/stretch at the back of the plane between episodes Still, good seats, I'd recommend them.
