Online check in problem RAK to LGW
Trying to check in online for my CE flight back to London. However, although the status of the flight within manage my booking says confirmed, it wont let me check in online and says that I'm now on standby! Is this really right?

ortunately, we cannot confirm a seat for you on the flight at present. You have been placed on the standby list.
A seat number will not be displayed on your boarding pass.
Please close this window and click 'confirm seats' to continue with Online Check-in.
If a seat becomes available, it will be allocated at the airport

I've also been trying to check in for this flight - I presume it's the BA2667 for the 27-02?
Im flying in ET on a RFS but haven't had a choice of seat and won't even let me view the seating plan as would usually - very odd..

Thanks LondonBA2014 for the reassurance, I thought it was just me! I have sent BA a tweet, but looks like it is going to be hours before they respond. Have you been able to check in - or has it done the same as me?
Yeah, the BA2667 on the 27th.

It is completely zeroed out indeed....
Good luck!
Alternatives are:
IB3341/BA7228 via MAD (13:35 / 19:35)
IB5896/BA2709 via BCN (13:40 / 21:35)
Most other flights seem pretty packed too.

This is not my area of expertise to be honest. From what CWS always says, I think that your best bet is to go to the airport. Maybe be there around 12:30 (if you're close) and see if you can be rebooked. Although, as BA only has one flight per day, I am not sure they people at the airport can help you. Probably not BA employees. If you're close you can try. Maybe give them a call at the airport.
If you can 'absorb' another day or two, go at the normal time.
28th is busy too:
March 1st looks a bit better...
Always annoying if there is only one flight per day.

I wouldn't panic. It sounds as though they may have disabled online check in for this flight. It may be oversold or it may not be but those classes are not closed, just zeroed out, so they are still accepting waitlist reservations and are still willing to sell at least 1 fully flex economy ticket. To me, this indicates that the flight isn't in 'panic stations' overselling but they are going to see who turns up for check in and take a view.
Looking at the seat map, there are 7 rows of Club Europe with a couple of seats showing as being blocked. Same in ET, quite a few blocked seats.
I'd turn up to the airport as normal - don't be late!
You have Bronze status so I would have hoped that non status passengers would be offloaded before you. They may ask for volunteers (in fact I think under EU Regs they have to before bumping people (involuntary denied boarding - IDB in airline speak)).
So, don't panic, don't cut check in fine and hope for the best. I don't think there's anything a BA contact centre can do for you now as the flight will be under 'airport control' by now in any event.
I'm guessing that you are still showing as "confirmed" in MMB on ba.com (ignoring the OLCI message you got which I wouldn't take a lot of notice of to be honest).
