I've been keeping an eye on those ex-DUB fares too.

For some reason, and I don't now why, ITA Matrix is saying that the ILN8S4C1 fares are cheaper than they actually are.

So ITA is finding a lower base fare than quoted on ExpertFlyer. The ExpertFlyer fare is what you get when click through to BA/AA or when searching direct on their websites.

Thanks, my apologies I didn't realise you were flying that complex of an itinerary. I don't think booking against the AY codes works when there's AA metal involved.

With an itinerary such as this, you should be able to get a TA to book on the codeshares and produce the lower price

no worries and thanks for your help none the less - sadly neither BA or my travel agent or booking on any website gets the MATRIX quoted prices - so something is amiss somewhere with MATRIX quotes right now me thinks ex DUB

I've been tracking an exDUB to West Coast itinerary on google flights for some time now and every so often this phenomenon occurs. Price drops by £300 or so for a couple of days but it is not bookable anywhere. It then returns to correct pricing on google flights and the ITA matrix.

It is a well known quirk with AA fares on Matrix/GF. No idea why it happens, but it does. Never get too excited by a fare until you can price it directly on AA.com, is the best advice I can give.

For what it's worth, I got a few of these ex-DUB west-coast itins on BA codes (but AA metal) to price up on BA.com (at ~£1.5/1.6k), which allowed me to also part-pay with Avios against them, which got the cost down to ~£1.3k rtn.

Worth a try if you can make it work.

Anyone else having trouble with Matrix at the moment? Any kind of 'alliance oneworld' option won't return anything (I was idly looking at DUB-SFO possibilities).

I'd noted this pricing anomaly - ILN8S4C1 was showing an AA ILN8S4C1 fare which was about €250 lower than the BA ILN8S4C1 fare. Following the lower one through with bookwithmatrix via aa.com and it priced on aa.com at the higher price...

Was consistently getting the BA fare until I split the trip into a further leg (pretty much showing every separate flight as a separate leg) and the lower price popped up.

Consensus is that the cheap rate isn't real?

I'm working on a trip, and am wondering if anyone can help improve it:

Outbound: EU-LHR-YYZ Jul 3
Inbound: US/CAN-anything-South Africa early September

The cheapest I've gotten so far is 2110 GBP DUB-LHR-YYZ//JFK-LHR-JNB; I'm looking to push that under 1900 if possible. Any suggestions appreciated!

I had this last week, and at the same time simple queries on Google Flights were also missing BA in the options, e.g. just showing Vueling for Oneworld flights LON-AMS, was fine the next morning.

edit: I found that it worked if you removed the "only show available flights" from the query, so I think the GDS connection to BA's availability was fubar.

NYE deals?

Some great options posted by Agent69 below exEU to Asia. When moved to a departure date of 27th Dec (return 20th Jan) it jumps to 1600 which seems great given the date.

Just wondering, what are the experts opinion on there being a QR sale / 241 sale between now and Xmas (especially given the current political state). I'm looking to take my dad away for his first new year outside the country. I've never flown QR and i've heard their business product is superb!

something is definitely not 100% with Matrix. At the moment according to Matrix the only way to fly between BFS and STN is via Malaga for £1600

Perhaps the issue is with how the Matrix interfaces with LCC's and not related to the routing?

Actually I've just realised part of the routing shown is by Bus between LHR and STN....I've never seen that come up on Matrix before??
