Searching for ex EU to Syd

Hi, quite a newbie to finding the best deals and quite often get confused with the matrix system! Reading some of the posts on here and looking at the links for the fares is quite interesting. I'm looking for a tier point run next year to take in Asia and Sydney ( for a visit to see a relative) over a two week period for next March/Apri in business. Any advice please on how to search would be appreciated.

You could do AMS-LHR-HKG-BKK for about Ł650 one way, then try to pick up BKK-KUL-SYD on MH (has been Ł600 ish in the past), followed by SYD-SIN-LHR-OSL for about Ł1,200. (The AMS-BK and SYD-OSL legs would need to be on the same ticket).

That lot would get you 880 TPs and you could fly via MEL for about the same price and an extra 40 TP.

There can also be lots of other good earning opportunities in the region on MH from time to time.

No current MH sales to allow you to do that, unfortunately, hence I'm planning to use avios for KUL-AKL next year.

@rossmacd

Hope you can help! Having sat on a possible flight that would work, I am now struggling to put together a GVA/ZRH to USA leaving either this Saturday (20) or Sunday (21), landing back no later than the following Thursday morning (25).

The outbound must gain me 220TP (so need one 140 leg + two 40 legs). Return not important.

Have I missed out? Am happy to go from and to anywhere at all.

Thanks!

It appears the earliest these can be booked is next Thurs / Fri. Is it for tier point collection cut off? Can you extend by two weeks twentyfourseven ?

The problem is not that the fare is not available - you will fall down on I class availability this close in.

However, there are some options - see below. I would be booking pretty quickly!

Not sure about the 767 but if you can get the 757 on the JFK-MIA leg you'll have the refurbished fully lie flat seats in a 2x2 configuration.

@mikeyfly this is the two week extension!

@rossmacd, brilliant, thank you. why doesn't that show up on ITA Matrix (or maybe it does and I'm doing it wrong)?

This is true, but would require an overnight at JFK to get the 757, not something I would want personally, but it is possible should @twentyfourseven want it!

It depends on your search criteria really! With Matrix, the more specific you are, the more targeted results you will achieve.

Enjoy

Looks like the ZRH/GVA-SFO/LAX has been pulled. Fare no longer available on EF.

That was quick! Once more we can see that these fares must be booked ASAP as they are pulled early.

Exactly. If you see a fare, book it and ask for forgiveness later
