The footrest gets a window, but the seat doesn’t. Found this out the hard way after flying TPA-LGW last month and at booking I paid to choose 4A and got a view of a wall. Nicer cleaner cabin though and less squeaks and rattles, but nothing to see. I always chose these seats because of the direct aisle access. I stole a spoon in protest.
Is this post referring to the new "densified" 10 abreast 777-200s at LGW? I'm travelling LGW-KIN next month and have booked 4K out and 4A return as they are no-stepover seats.

Do these seats not have a window next to one's head? If not I need to change seats pronto as in the past I've avoided these seats like the plague!

Appreciate clarification on this.

Yes, it is, there is a window just further down and you would have to lean forwards to see out. However you would need to check WT on your service (via a dummy booking) to see if it was 10 across; and then there could easily be a change on the day since LGW is perpetually low on equipment resources.

Travelled on the new densified 777 not long ago and can confirm this is the case. Pic below from 1K towards 4A in far corner

See post 338 which might help. Personally, I'd take row 11 but J/K to keep the Sun from coming through seeing as it's a day flight.

I'll be flying on BA182 JFK-LHR in November in WTP and would like to book my seat in advance. I'll probably go for a window seat Currently the seat map shows 23 A/K and 24 A/K available. Are they all much of a muchness or is one of them the "must go for"?
Edit: BA shows it should be a B772

We are on a day flight from BKK on a 777-200 in club. Which would be the best seats for a group of five? Currently looking at 2A, 2B and 1D, 1E, 1F or would row 10 be preferred? Many thanks in advance.

I would take 11A - for a short daytime flight you needn't worry too much about stepping over your neighbour and this gets you off the plane faster vs 16A. Much prefer window to the aisle at 10B.

Well one on the K side is likely to get you a better view of London on the approach to LHR, but other than that no.

Does anyone know the state of the 777’s operating LGW to Mauritius? Guessing it’s the old style light blue fabric seats. Config is 40J/24W
The total cost of upgrading from Y to WTP will be £500+ as I’ve already paid and reserved two seats in Y that I’ll lose and will have to reserve again. Not sure it's worth it if it turns out to be the old style WTP seats after paying that much to upgrade (plus the extra avios).
