Any recommendations for a single traveler in CW? Window seat in what looks to me to be a little mini cabin up front?

In the meantime, I saw allocation of 1A and 4A on BA site but not on the seatmap (the two didn't match) and I wasn't able to switch back to original choice. Infact MMB wouldn't allow me to change to any seat I got an error message so I went back to RJ switched my seat back refreshed BA MMB and was finally back to square 1.
I had the same issue trying to change the seat of my travelling companion also - when I clicked on his name, all seats became unavailable even though he is also BA gold.

Fixed this by changing my seat first and then logging out of the booking. Then logging back in using HIS surname to choose a seat - all on the RJ website. Appreciate this may not work for you If you share a surname though!

I am now wondering if this in fact an 8F 777 with the front 2 rows unavailable since my route has no first, but the seatmap for the return was even more strange with rows 1, 3 and 4 missing on the BA app but visible on expertflyer and RJ.

Its not. Its a 3 class 777. The first one just returned back to LHR yesterday(G-YMMI). On the 8F 777s, there's no row 3 and 4.

Thanks. Any idea about this one then? I assume again a 3 class 777 with the wrong seat map (I’ve put myself into the missing row 1 on the RJ website).

Its the same as the one before. This is also the new 3 class 777 with Club Suite. For what ever reason, the seatmap doesn't show row 1 and sometimes row 2. Its probably the usual BA IT glitches. The High J 777 layout also reportedly suffers the same issue with rows 19-24 not showing up in MMB.

I just booked a 777 to JFK for January and it only offers row 1 and 2 for a First booking. Can I hope that this would be the new F cabin?

Its possible. One way to tell is to look at the J class seat map for your flights. If it has rows 5-17 it will be the old First seats (-200ER), if it has rows 5-24 it will be the new First seats (-300ER). Alternatively, you can use expertflyer and check there.

Ah, ok. Old F it is, unless some new planes or cabins arrive by January. Are there any estimated delivery dates or refurb dates yet?

Does Row 10 on a non-refurbished 77W have a missing window?

777 not matching seat maps in Wiki

Hi All, I wonder if anyone can help. My upcoming flight to MLE (BA61 out / BA60 back) has a seat map that doesn't appear to match any of the seat maps in this post.

Outbound, we're flying in WTP and the aircraft is listed as 77W in MMB. It has 5 rows in 2-4-2 config; rows 30-34. We've currently selected 32H&K.

Inbound, the aircraft is again listed as a 77W, and we were fortunate enough to find redemption availability for CW. It was a very pleasant surprise to find the seat map showing the new CWS (that will be a first for me!) - but with a seat map that doesn't appear above. It has a mini cabin of 3 rows; rows 5-7, then what looks like a cabin divider (not a galley or toilets), before a larger cabin of 11 rows; rows 8-18, with row 18 only having seats in the centre of the cabin (not at the windows). The toilets are located aft of row 18. We have currently seleced 5K and 6K for the long day flight (we can cope with 11hrs sitting a row apart, we'd rather have a window each!).

Can I ask your opinions on what type of aircraft this is and any seating tips from anyone that has experienced it previously? Dates, if they help, are 4th of November and 12th November.
Thanks all!

Actually, the seatmap you are describing for both flights is in the wiki. Its the one listed as 77H, which is the High-J 777-300ER. For what ever reason rows 19-24 in CW are missing in MMB (this has been previously reported here).

Sonic Star, thank you for your prompt response. Are you certain? I would note the following differences:
  • You refer to 77H whereas my MMB refers to 77W
  • The 77H has an additional (third) cabin of suites, which the seat map for the 77W doesn't display
  • The 77H has a galley behind row 7 - the seat map of the 77W shows nothing more than a bulkhead
  • The 77H has 4 toilets aft of row 8 - the 77W seat map shows 3 toilets aft of row 18
As much as I'm grateful for your reply, your tone almost suggests I should have known... I would politely beg to differ... the two seat maps bare no resemblance to each other whatsoever.
Still, thank you for responding
