Exit on 777 densified WT ex gatwick?
Silly question from first time long haul
about seat maps
BA2273 . 11/05/2019 16:55
where are the exits for disembarking on a 777 densified 10 accross
on the seat map on BA manage my booking, it shows rows 32 as being exits
is this to get off plane or an emergency exit?
if sitting at the front of the WT cabin, say row 21, 22 etc,, to exit on arrival, do you go forward following the first and business class off the plane or do all Wt cabin passengers leave through the exit at row 32?
the middle seats on row 32 and 20 are blocked off
is this because they are bassinet seats for people with infants, but seem to have extra leg room.
do these get opened to normal passengers or can this only be done at the check in desk?

You'll exit from either door 1, 2 or both which is in front of WT so you'll follow those in the higher cabins off the plane. This is a 3 class aircraft and a refurbished one too. ^
So no first class, just business, world traveller plus and world traveller.
Row 32 ABC and JFK are exit seats and not for boarding or deplaning on arrival and they're over the rear of the wing. The middle block are not exits but 32 E and F are bassinet seats.
Row 20 are not exit seats (no door) and are bulkheads. 20 A, E, F and K are bassinet positions. They may open up from 3 days out but not guaranteed.
Only Golds and above can pre book long haul exit seats but I believe they open for sale at 14 days out if still available but I'm not 100% sure on that bit.
See this thread for more info which also has some pictures.

There are seven main types of 777s now, and 3 variants with it, so we may need the date. I'm assuming a 777-300, and in which case 35J and K would be my choice, not that there is a lot in it. The rear ones can suffer from the informal WT pub that can spring up at the back of 777s.

WTP seat map issue
Sorry if this has been covered somewhere but I'm really stuck.
I'm flying BA2277 LGW-LAS on 6th May 19
At the point of booking it shows 32J rows 1-4 and 40W rows 10-14. (And 204Y rows 20-42) I cannot find any seat maps that reflect this layout... am I missing something?

Hi All
We are flying LGW-MLE in economy next Jan and was wondering whether the ‘twin’ rows (MMB shows Rows 43,44,45) are worth doing?
We wanted to use Avios to upgrade to Premium Economy but there’s no availability, so was thinking it might be nice to still be able to sit just the two of us in one of theee rows.
Downsides are it’s twice as expensive to reserve these seats and it’s close to the toilets.
If these aren’t good seats to get can someone recommend particularly good rows if there are any?
Also if it’s showing no availability to upgrade with Avios right now, does that mean it’ll never be available or is it worth keeping on checking? It was available a couple of weeks ago and now that I have enough Avios, it’s gone. Typical!

If you were to choose the pairs then personally I'd choose 43 or 44 rather than the last row. It's really a personal choice If you wish to pay to reserve them and you can use Avios to do this now I believe. To upgrade there would have to be
1) Availability
2) Be in an eligible booking class. Generally any economy bucket, but there can be restrictions and Q, O and G cant be upgraded. There is more info in the Dashboard in Upgrade Using Avios part.
It's worth checking very regularly of course but sometimes the one golden rule is if you see award availability to upgrade then go for it there and then. If you are a straight BA booking you may receive a POUG (pro active upgrade offer) or you can ask on the day at the airport. I'd imagine the Male flights will be very full at that time of year so I wouldn't be too optimistic regarding any of the 3 ways to upgrade as I've highlighted.
Theres a good thread here which may be helpful and 11 is not a bad choice in my humble view and theres quite a number of good videos on Youtube of the cabin too.

Solo traveller in CW..
Hi. Which seat would you recommend for a solo traveller on a night flight on a 777 with 4 rows in J ex Gatwick ? I’ve currently booked 1B but both 4A and 4K are still available. Haven’t flown BA for a long time so would appreciate some advice. Thx

4A or 4K, the only window seats with direct aisle access (as long as you’re ok with rear-facing seats). Small risk of noise/light from galley, but never bothered me and much more private than BA’s very exposed CW aisle seats. I’d take either of them over 1B any day.

I'd choose the K side coming westwards so it's away from the Sun. The 77N is a 777-300 which has decent Thales IFE.
