Snow forecast 12 January
It's looking increasingly likely snow will fall in the London area from 4pm tomorrow. As we all know that creates chaos in the UK generally!
BA and other airlines may cut some shorthaul services in a anticipation, these will start to show up in the system tonight I'd guess.
Build extra time into your journeys to and from the airport and lets hope the shiny new snowplows bought a few years ago start first time!
Good luck

Indeed.
This is from what i usually consider the most accurate weather forecasting website I use. However, if the forecasting site is true, even if it snows, the weather is not cold enough for it to freeze on the ground and stay as snow. So this is likely snow falling but melting, so hopefully shouldn't cause a mess.
Did any of you see the mess of IST this last week? Absolute chaos, you can read all about it in the TK thread.

The forecast is stating, Rain & Snow. I'm pretty sure it won't have any problems neither many cancellation, most likely the snow will be melting by the time it hits the ground. It's just the MET office is jealous of Eastern Europe with nothing to do. And just trying to make people worry.

It was the winds today at LBA which were an issue -hence the BA cancellations. Most flights to LBA this morning got cancelled or ended up getting diverted.
May be a bit of snow showers overnight or early tomorrow at LBA, but nothing too problematic.
Oh and the required reductions noted above shouldn't (hopefully) affect the LBA flights since there is no evening rotation this week.

Drat. Capacity drop in the evening, means some early morning inbounds to LHR on Friday 13th will be chopped - and I'm transferring onto a LH on Friday morning after a EU hop.
I knew it was not a good idea to fly on Friday 13th

Not sure what everyone is so worried about.
LHR copes very well with snow, but it depends if it's the right kind of snow
Good luck to those flying...I land at 6am, so should miss it all!

Met warning for tomorrow was also noting the expected sharp drop in temperatures after nightfall tomorrow evening which they predict could lead to ice forming from the wet snow/rain that falls tomorrow afternoon making surfaces potentially hazardous on Friday morning - so stay safe out there!
