That reminds me, A couple of months ago I was sat next to a 'gentleman' on a significantly delayed GVA-LHR, who, during his rant about his missed connection, kept telling the CC repeatedly that he was a "$1500 an hour lawyer" and that he was going to "bill BA for his lost time". We were all suitably impressed.
Totally OT, when I worked for a Big Four I acted as an expert witness on a client's failed SAP project and found that the cheeky buggers, sorry esteemed partners, were charging me out at £1500 an hour! I obviously added a commensurate level of value

I would love to criticise the grammar police, but both SWMBO and I do it.
The problem is, our daughter does it too, and we do not have immunity!!

Ladies and gentlemen, really? This is the DYKWIA topic, in a frequent flyer forum - I know a great place where this discussion would work www.englishforums.com

North or south, "I was sitting" is grammatically correct. The only place I have seen or heard "I was sat" is here on FT. As I am not usually the grammar police and the posters here are not my kids, I have given everyone a pass on this one.
