There was an interesting hand-written addition on a piece of A4 paper in the bar menu this afternoon. It described a crisp sandwich in intricate detail.
I couldn't possibly unmask the culprit, but you will usually find him here on Tuesdays and Thursdays....

Incidentally, at lunch last Sunday, Mme Morges1 (known to have very particular taste) gave the highest accolades to the scallop starter and the coq au vin!

Chicken jalfrezi, albeit the Gatwick version, however CCR looks identical, from memory, though Gatwick's portion seems somewhat larger.

Next time, I'll "salad dodge" with this meal, my excuse being the lurking cucumber....(maybe I'll get more curry in its place).

Between myself and the other half and 4 hours in the CCR last night we sampled:
Mint & Pea Soup - adequate if a little cold
Scallop - good
Chicken Jalfrezi - agree with above posters, excellent
Club Sandwich - could have done with a little more mayo
Sea Bream & Rissoto - good
Tarte Tatin with walnut ice cream - fabulous mmmmmmmmm
In fact the only disappointment was the Hoisin duck and oriental vegetable wrap I sampled on first arrival - utterly disgusting. The texture was like mayonnaise, nothing that either looked or tasted like duck to be found. Maybe I'm spoilt by Pret's version.
Food onboard was also excellent (we had the steak & the lamb), have they upped the game in this area a bit recently? way better than last few F flights.
Oh and while we're on the subject of food 2F was covered in bits of ribbed crisps on boarding. On the seat, in every crevasse (well, I say in, resting on the top of every crevasse is probably a better description). But we know BA don't clean the aircraft properly or give a damn... the crew member was fabulous, tried (but failed) to get the cleaners back (whom we passed on the ramp on boarding) and then found a dustpan and brush and swept it up for me. She was so embarrassed but I was fine as my expectations were sadly but adequately set...

Just on board the graveyard flight to Belfast, where checking-in your bag at the gate is the new Priority Boarding Queue.
Hope to be back in CCR next Thursday afternoon, when I hope to bump into a fellow barfly...
Now to try to resist BOB....
