2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

I was always under the impression that POUGs weren't likely (or indeed impossible?) on multi city trips, however today when I phoned the BA Silver line to see if I could upgrade my WT LAX-LHR leg to WT+ in November (unfortunately no Avios availability), the very nice bloke on the end told me that as there are still 15 seats left in WT+, keep checking MMB, especially 4 or so weeks before the flight and there will very likely be a POUG available at about 250. I will report back if this indeed turns out to be true!

As we live in Ireland all our trips with BA are multi city Trips. Have never been offered a POUG on any of these. Also interested to see if this happens for you.

POUG LHR > SEA WT+ to CW

Been offered a POUG for 552 to upgrade to Club World from World Traveller +. Flight is in March 2019 from LHR to SEA. Original selling class was T. Trying to decide if it is good value.

Been offered POUG for 243 LHR - LAX WT to WT+ for a flight next week. It seems to have gone down from last week's price. Loads look light across the whole flight so wondering if it will go down anymore?

I think the price is about average for WT+ to CW and I would have taken it. I travelled that route monthly for two years and never got either POUG or Airport upgrade. In the end switched to Delta where I got one easily.

Depending upon the day and timings I found that route very busy.

LHR - DXB

Hi all - just got the option for WT - WTP for 189, WTP - CW for 189 and then CW - F also 189! 567 seems like a good deal from WT - F, is it worth it?

That's good to know. Shame with all of that loyalty you still did not get an upgrade. I decided to take it.

13 Oct LHR to HND,WTP to CW 549, taken. I was then offered to upgrade again to First for 720 which is not bad considering how much it actually costs but would rather upgrade the return, if possible, to CW...

Just a quick one - if I was to receive a POUG on a cabin-bag only fare from WT to WTP, would this then mean I could then check a bag based on the upgraded fare I would now be on?

LAX - LHR - WTP for 269 which I took as I needed to add a bag to the my booking (had booked on carry-on only WT fare) and also I was going to pay for seat selection, so thought it was worth 179 after all of that.

Now being offered CW for 269 again so debating whether that's worth it.
