2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

If you have been offered one then it will specify the flight. I'm unaware of them being offered on codeshares personally but that's not to say they aren't. If it was offering you a deal both ways it's would specifically tell you that so if it's only listing eg lhr-jfk £499 then it's only for that sector. For both it would need to say lhr-jfk 499 jfk-lhr 699.

Those posted will specify the flights details

Oddly - to me at least - I currently have an upgrade available on an open jaw LHR-OSL/ARN-LHR that comes in as cheaper than the POUGs in the wiki. It doesn't come up as an offer (because it's open jaw AIUI?) but having checked via the regular "upgrade with money" link I'm being asked for £120 LHR-OSL, £124 ARN-LHR, or £184 the pair.

LGW-SZG Oct 18: £89 ET to CE. Is it worth it?

Are you collecting tier points? If so then possibly yes I would take it, together with whether you’d use the lounge access / extra checked bags

The seat is the same as ET but just an aisle or window seat with the middle blocked by a table, plus you get some free food & drinks.

I just did the maths and it represents quite poor £/TP ratio at more than £2/TP. I probably would just do a few TP runs separately (LHR-HEL looks tempting)

AMS > LHR 89 EUR on 767.

Currently in 27J for the legroom but never been in the business cabin of the 767 which is soon to retire. Would this be worth it?

was going to ask what is it like in club europe on a 767? Is it flat beds? I’d try that for 89 EUR 😅

update: just checked it looks like normal seats :/

Yep the 767 cabin is a 2+3+2 config. Very tired now but as these long serving workhorses are on the way to retirement I'd enjoy the experience as this time next year it won't be possible!
