2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

Confirm that is how it works. We had a return booked to LUX. POUG offered for 59 each way. I needed the extra tier points but mrs Rjh did not.As said earlier cannot u.g only one of us online. Asked at LGW ticketing desk and they split our booking into two PNRs. After the usual few days delay was offered the POUG.

Being offered LHR-MAD (77W) and MAD-LHR (789) for 159 each way. Can’t quite bring myself to do it for relatively short flights, despite the potential prospect of moving from WTP seats to CW (and possibly even F). EF is currently showing the First cabins as completely blocked for both flights, although I have been able to move from Y seats to W in the economy cabins. Best stay put I think as WTP seats are already a win given I booked HBO economy fares!

I think what you have to do is call up, they will run their emulator to check the POUG is offered, then split the booking during the upgrade. At least that is what I believe to the situation, it would be good to get confirmation.

Many thanks to both of you. I will see what happens and report back if there is anything interesting to add.

LHR > YYZ upgrade WT > WT+ 224 per pax.

Flight is end March 2018

Given it's a 7h30 flight and the original ticket was bought in the BA sale last Autumn........ I took it.

[Note that at the time of booking (Sep '17) the e-ticket confirmation email offered a PUOG of 319 from WT to WT+ ]

Currently being offered a price of $644 to upgrade from WTP to CW from BOS-LHR. My flight's in early May. I can't decide whether to take it or not, though. I am 6'-5" which is primarily why I decided to pay for WTP, in addition to this being a red-eye flight (BA214). Right now I think I'll wait it out to see if BA offers me a better deal the closer I get to my flight.

Also offered around 48 hours before the departure (via the app) of the return sector ARN-LHR at the same price.

I can't update the wiki, but I figure I might as well offer the following information for my upcoming flights

17/04 LHR-GVA: 139 GBP
21/06 LHR-BSL: 129 GBP
24/06 BSL-LHR: Not yet offered.

POUG offer of 129 no longer visible on app, but a prominent upgrade link is still there in addition to the normal MMB link. It takes me on a long journey to eventually reach the offer, which is now 179 pp

At least that is what I believe to the situation, it would be good to get confirmation.
The agent said that if the booking is split and the POUG is removed online, then she would not be able to upgrade at the POUG price.

Having to do a fare rules upgrade is not the end of the world as it's only about 15 more, but I'd be interested to know, please, whether there's some magic word / instruction / guidance that points to a way for the agent to do a manual upgrade at the POUG price if splitting the booking does remove the POUG online offer.

A couple of POUGs offered recently:

LGW->NCE June 89
LHR->OTP August (the pre-party plane) 129 - took that one.

Will update wiki.
