2017 POUG rate tracker

Please add your own successful results to the follow list including the month/year when the POUG was offered to you. Please delete any figures from 2017 or earlier if you have a 2018 price. Previous data lives on via post 2.

UPDATED TO: Post #418

POUGs are offered via BA.com and the App Manage My Booking via a distinctive banner (example from MMB below). You cannot get a POUG by telephoning, however the service centres can complete a POUG which falls over mid transaction. They are offered on cash and Avios redemptions but typically not on complex routings, BA Holidays or travel agency bookings until OLCI stage. POUGs on Avios redemptions won't get you additional TPs/Avios, but they will on revenue tickets.

Short haul routes from LON to/from Europe
A price in pounds indicates a ticket issued from London, other currencies indicate prices for tickets issued overseas (e.g. singles or returns originating from CDG priced in Euros). Multiple prices indicate a range of fares are on offer. Note that LCY prices currently seem to be on a different basis to LGW and LHR (cheaper, in other words).

If I was going solo then I'd jump on that as I'm Gold and I like the chances of being upgraded from WTP. We're currently sitting in the WT cabin on the upper deck so I *think* we'll stay where we are...for now.

Ah well now here's something interesting....
Checked my booking today and they're now offering the WT -> WTP upgrade for 165. A 105 drop overnight.

I'm guessing this means that Y is oversold (or filling up) and W is empty. I've never seen a POUG that cheap before.

Its the early morning flight so I'll probably pass on this.

Apologies in advance if this has already been answered elsewhere. I am flying JFK-LHR on WTP on 3/28, however when I open the BA App on my iPhone, the screen opens to my booking and the JFK-LHR flight shows seat 13A (which is in Business on a 744). However, when I go to MMB on the desktop, it still shows my original seat in WTP. Is this a glitch? Not sure what this means, any helpful insight is appreciated.

HKG-LHR - WTP - HK$2700 (278 at the current exchange rate). 26 March. Not sure it's really worth it, but I haven't tried WTP yet (normally fly Virgin or Cathay).

Looking at the seatmap, WTP seems very full so now I am regretting it because I may end up with a middle seat.

Just checked MMB for LHR-PSA this coming weekend and a POUG of....170 per person has appeared. Q class is the underlying fare.

Even though it's the start of a lengthy AKL trip (on QR the following day), I'm really not convinced that it's good value for half a panini... I think I'd rather spend (a fraction of) that on a really good supper in PSA for Mrs Map and me.

Wiki updated.

I thought I'd update the thread here. Since it's a nice downward change.

For some time now LHR-OTP has been in the 209-239 region. Just today I saw the upcoming flight has changed (outbound only, no POUG on return offered) offered at 129. Still not taking it, but hoping it stays this way.

One sample isn't enough to update wiki IMO. But, will watch future flights to see if it stays this way.

I think it is an interesting data point, even as a sample of one, which was better than no information previously. Wiki updated to reflect the usual range and this "special" offer.
