Thanks. This is strange isn’t it? Even the crappiest of airport lounges have a basic selection of spirits and mixers ..

Based on gin, Tallinn was noticeably cheaper than Helsinki, but neither was a great price if flying within EU and not having a actual duty free purchase, so would imagine the same will hold for other spirits too.

Very strange on the first flight Tallinn to Helsinki I thought we was supposed to be bearding at the rear, but it boarded at front via Jetbridge ! And of course I’d chosen a seat right at the back of aircraft..

and there was was a separate business class section complete with curtain (see pic), unlike going out to Tallinn on Friday !

Anyway the service was the same for both ‘cabins’ which was someone coming around with a chocolate per passenger !

The best bit is that we were both given access to the ‘premium’ lounge at Helsinki... which I understand is supposed to be reserved for Golds and First class passengers...

an amazing lounge !!!

The last HEL-TLL and thus the first TLL-HEL rotation is operated by E90 except Saturdays out/Sundays in.

The curtain remains in place even though it is a one cabin flight.

but ours was 1250 TLL-HEL.

I think they consider one set of lounges - "international" - so full bar.

The other lounge is considered "domestic" - so wine and beer only.

Each to his own ...

The Schengen lounge has an extremly limited strong liquor self-pour service from noon(?), just cognac and cloudberry liquor.

Was supposed to be heading out tomorrow but have had to change my plans due to other commitments.
Have rebooked for Sat 9th Dec. Cost me a £100 change fee and any Saturday flight for the next month or two (that I can see), involving the 10:20am A350 from LHR, adds £200+ on top of that.
Decided to catch the 7:30am flight to HEL, have a day in Helsinki as I've not seen it, and then get the late 11:45pm flight to TLL. Then get to 6:10am flight back to HEL.
Just need to figure out how to waste 4hrs overnight as I'm sure it's going to be rather chilly outside. Options include: airport (maybe those sleep pods?), Hilton casino to get my free drink, nice gentle stroll to town and back that will waste 1-2 hrs.....

If the GoSleep pods are available (is Tallinn airport open overnight?) then they’re actually pretty good. They’re nothing like a hotel room obviously, but for a few hours worth I find them pretty good for somewhere slightly dark to have a nap, with the benefit that any belongings can be stored more safely. When I’ve had shortish overnight connections at Helsinki I’ve used them in preference to paying for a hotel for just a few hours sleep, and would definitely recommend them, especially if you have lounge access and so access to a shower to freshen yourself up.
