Loganair and Flybe end franchise agreement

It seems former BA franchisee Loganair will be trading under its own brand from the end of next summer, ending its relationship with Flybe.

Hopefully BA's codeshares on Loganair will be preserved.

Is that a first for Shetland News being featured on here??
Sounds like quite a fall out, each saying they instigated the split.

While this is interesting news, the theft of the shed door has me more worried. What a great news site.

Unfortunate really. Hopefully the BA codes remain.

Well I'm not moving to the Shetlands, compared to the Hexham Courant the place looks like a den of iniquity. It's bad enough coping with the Allendale Women's Institute 70th birthday party (page 3).

But congratulations to Calchas for devoting his mornings to ploughing through all the goings on up there.

I guess they have no intention of becoming a BA franchisee again then? I wonder if fares will change much with the loss of BE.

Shetland News is an absolute delight (Fungus First for Shetland!). There was also quite the scuttlebutt a year or so ago when the owners of the only pub on Bressay absconded in the middle of the night.

Once we actually made it into the air (although, to be fair, the greatest delay was the BA feeder flight from LHR-EDI) I was quite impressed with Loganair's service when I flew to Shetland last summer. We got coffee and a small snack, so better than what BA will be offering soon.

I do hope the BA codes continue, and especially the ability to book with Avios, as 4,500 Avios was quite a good deal considering the price otherwise.

I stopped reading when I heard a car had been damaged at the butchers!

Would you believe I had the day off?

I made the headline on the front cover on the Hexham Courant when I worked at Hexham Station and someone appeared with a big chopper to attack a passenger! I never knew Hexham had so many Police...

No real shame to be honest.

Loganair are plagued with tech issues on an old fleet.

I wonder what the future holds for them .........

Loganair operate my favourite route which is Glasgow to Barra in the Outer Hebrides. They use an 18 seater Twin Otter landing on the beach there. If the weather is good the views are fantastic. BA used to have a through fare LHR-GLA-BARRA but was more expensive than booking each sector separately. Well worth doing but probably leave it to late Spring/summer.

Dundee to London Loganair flights confirmed for next 4 years.

A bit of good news for Dundee International Airport, after the recent Flymaybenot redirection to Edinburgh of the Dundee to Amsterdam flight.
