The Curse of Fly ? [14 Nov, BA Op systems down, major disruption]

Currently parked at an LGW hold point on BA2770 awaiting final load & balance from BA Ops... but their computer system is down apparently

Has the Curse of Fly struck again ?

Absolute shambles. Returned to gate in DUB after 40 min delay caused by FLY. Apparently LCY is closed to arrivals, not sure if that is related?

Yes, worldwide outage of load-balance systems.

Manual check in and bag drop at NCL. People without allocated seats given the same seats as people who have checked in online previously. 07:50 still sat on the gate.

Yes we were told no arrivals to LCY due to check-in problems therefore no aircraft leaving and no stands available. Slowed all the inbounds down but not sure if any diverted in the end.

BA global system down

Long lines at checkin this morning at LHR. Global system has been down again. Give yourself plenty of time.

Heck - 9:30and I see BA1321(the 7:50) is still showing last call gate 7!! with the BA1325 due off at 9:35 showing go to gate 2 (is BA's usual gate 3 broken?).

Newcastle's airbridge at gate 3 is indeed currently broken, which given the weather is unfortunate to say the least.

We're still sat on the tarmac. Doors still open. The PAX count showed one too many on board. Seating was a free for all on boarding as some had to just take empty seats. They had to print a manual list and walk down the cabin checking every boarding pass again.

Pilot is speaking now and said we're almost ready to go. Shambles this morning I have to say.

Sitting in the CCR on a PRG-LHR-JFK routing that's gone swimmingly, so far. A friend has also checked in for LHR-HAM with no issues.

Is it all sorted now?

Hand baggage only, with boarding pass, non EU flight, just over 30 mins from arrival at T5 to B gates at just past 10am. Queues to check bags longer than usual, fast track slightly busier, lots of people running around to try and get to their flights so clearly some have had to wait a while or left it tight.

Delays seem to be if you have bags to check and don't have a BP with you.

Conformance dumped until 2pm. It appears 'no-fly' is now working again.
