'Optional Extras'

Haha. Saw this on the main page www.britishairways.com, which is opened when you click 'new baggage allowance' information. I thought they were enhancing that as well, so was worried and decided to click the link!

As a full service airline, I guess a few extra things include food now. I guess BA feels that eating is now optional = )

What I find laughable is how they describe the short haul meal options as "dining"

A sandwich, is not dining, unless used in irony, like "desk dining". Its a shame they couldn't offer the all in one meal options, like their healthy options that you could pre-order. At least that would be dining, and probably better than what was there before!

It's not the only think MoL would do for a fiver...

You'll need to make a bit.ly* link to get that to work, as the FT profanity filter has had a go at your URL :p

* - other link shortening services do exist....

As this thread has, perhaps inevitably, immediately moved towards BA's decision to offer BoB food in Y - and the other additional charges such as advance seat selection are long-standing and are also discussed in many other existing threads - we'll close this thread here to avoid further duplication and please ask you to continue to contribute to the debate on BoB here.
