284/285 back to 747 (some days)

After an absence of about a year it looks like the 747 is making a comeback on the SFO route. Specifically on the earlier 284/285 rotation, replacing the current 772 on some (but not all) days.

This makes me very happy as I much prefer the 747 over both the 777 and 388 in J and F.

Ontop of the 787-9 to SJC, A380 on BA287/286 and now a 3-class 777-200 to OAK... there's a lot of seats and beds going into the Bay Area.

These look to be the super-J 747s too.

I tend to fly in and out of SJC now, but that's good to know, many thanks. Club is much better on the 747, IMO.

Wow, hadn't even noticed that. That is a lot of premium seats per day to the bay area!

Last I checked, the 777 from OAK to LGW is 2-class, not 3-class....did that change?

BA doesn't have a 2 class 777 - they are all either 3 or 4 class birds.

I flew the A380 earlier in the week and they were VERY actively up-selling to Business at check-in and at the lounge. Didn't catch the price I am afraid.

Asking every person in the lounge in WT/WT+, showing them the safety card to explain how wonderful the seats are, showing menus...that was what I saw happening repeatedly.
