They're already refurbed, in a four class setup intended to be based at LGW with old CW retained. It's just that there"s currently no need for them at LGW with BA having apparently decided to cut First from all LGW services. There has been some speculation over what BA might do with those three aircraft. Of course it is possible they will see out their remaining lives as-is, operating Heathrow based leisure services. That appears to be the current approach with their most recent use having been confined to Barbados and Orlando services. If that pans out BA won't be able to deliver 100% CS on (777) flights from Heathrow for some time to come, despite having announced that all Heathrow based 777s would be refitted this year.

Our Feb flights are now showing completely unrefurbished 777-300ERs. If that sticks, it will be good news for WT passengers as they still have 9 abreast seating. Not so good for CW passengers as the cabins haven't even had the relatively recent refresh that the LGW frames have had and retain the 56 seat dorm cabin.

Am I right in thinking the world traveller plus seats (shell, design) are different on these refurbished Gatters 777s than on the Heathrow fleet? I seem to remember sitting in the front row of Y on a previous trip (Jan19) and they looked a little different than the 777 I recently flew to NYC. Not wider or anything, but there was somewhere to stick your water bottle and they looked like a more rounded shell from behind…

The Gatwick 777s have the latest WTP seat, with the bottle holder, bigger screen and a leg rest in addition to a foot rest. I don't know, but I assume these are also being installed now to any 777s that are being refitted at LHR or new deliveries? I guess LHR will have a mix and LGW will have consistently the newer version.

The new WTP seats are in the A35K and the B78X so newer B77W’s might also have them.

In terms of refits, I haven’t been on 777 that has been refreshed but I’d guess at least the G-YMM* -200’s at LHR have the new WTP seats.

This is the shot I took of Gatwick 777 WT+ from my front row seat in Y in Jan20. The aircraft was actually heading from LHR > DUB. I noticed the difference in the seats as we upgraded with avios to WT+ on a 789 on the rtn.

Rumour that STBK returns to LHR tomorrow. Whether that is with club suite is yet to be determined but I would assume so

STBJ to return 05 September

May I ask how you know the scheduled B777 varient, other than simply B777, in advance?
Am curious which model will fly LGW > DOH as BA2033 on Mar 12 2023, then DOH > LGW as BA2032 on Mar 24 2023

A look at the seat map on BA.com (if flying that route on those dates!) will give a clue, and Expert Flyer will also help. For those more in the know, Gatwick B777 aircraft, apart from the rare substitute, will all be Club World 32J style aircraft configuration, so it is an easy guess.

went through to do dummy seat booking and whilst the outbound from LGW looks like the 77L or 77T in the wiki, for the inbound it is showing this configuration- which I dont recognise in the wiki

Any suggestions as to which varient it is?
