Really? When was that said? I thought it was all the 3 class 772s (25 of them right?)

Actually ignore me, looks like there are 15 3 class 772s.

On the call. The 77Ws (12) and (presumably 13) Gatwick 772s = 25 total.

I'm not surprised.

They will now be my last choice in economy (along with any other over-densified aircraft). I'll still fly the A380 or the older 777s from LHR, if I can be reasonably sure that I will not have the overcrowded aircraft.

The comment in another thread about BA approaching the product level of Norwegian in economy seems quite accurate now - although they also now approach the product level of AA in economy, only without offering MCE seats.

It makes it sound like only the Gatwick fleet is going 10-across. This is not the case.

It is disingenuous to make 'Gatwick' the headline (I agree the slide is misleading) - this is a change that will not merely affect leisure passengers going to Orlando once per year.

The 12 x 777-300ERs at Heathrow are also being converted - roughly half of the 25 777s in total.
Happy for my thread title to be edited.

It seems the configuration shown in the slide is only for LGW, but some LHR 777s (77Ws only?) will also go 10-abreast... and possibly fewer toilets and/or reduced galley space too.

But there are 14 3 class 772s (according to the BA source)

Oh God please no. Row 2 it is then. What an absolute horror show.

Indeed, there are 25 772s with the old IFE/Seats, wouldn't it make sense that all of those are converted?

It is possible I misheard 777-200 for -300 on the call.

Either way, it's definitely 100% absolutely not just Gatwick!

I already fly QR and CX going east and am moving more of my business back to AA going west (I hate VS's herringbone configuration even more than I hate BA CW).
Short haul ? easyJet and a paid for lounge. What's the point of BA now ?

NOT the world's favourite airline, it's not even the UK's favourite.
To fly, to piss you off..........
Bad news then, because Qatar are considering/planning to switch to 10 across in their 777s as well! So best to avoid the 777s in Economy. (http://onemileatatime.boardingarea.c...ng-10-abreast/)

I thought that the A350 was designed to not be able to handle 10 across in Economy, but seems that this is also possible: https://www.runwaygirlnetwork.com/20...t-airbus-a350/

So only a matter of time before we see this on other airlines as well!

As per my post above - QR did this last year on the 777s and reports back from FTers have been mostly positive (much to the surprise of many!).

Presumably they'll be fitting the new Y seats, so that at least will be something. (Perhaps Panasonic IFE too?)

As for the smaller 789 F cabin - down to one row of 4 seats then?

Given how bad Y is/will be, I will still find myself in J no matter how bad it is. I just wish there were short haul carriers that had a better product (Air Serbia can't fly you many places!).

Furthermore, living in West London, LHR will always be preferred.

I have no great affinity with BA, I only came here due to the demise of BD and switched my allegiance from *A. I'm "region" based so will normally require a connection to most places in the OW alliance. For long haul, Emirates provide a better network, but have fewer earning partners. My last few flights with BA have actually been domestics, but now that BoB is coming, there is no reason to fly BA, even the measly avios and TP offered have been scaled back.
I have an F redemption booked for May next year, but all i read on here is how even that is not as good as it used to be. Even down to flowers in the loo !
