Looks like they have managed to shove an entire extra CW row in between doors 1 and 2!

I would guess they'll get rid of the front galley/cupboards like easyjet/wizz etc. Row 1 won't be quite as nice in future.

But remember, they're not a LCC

So the LGW 777s will have 10 across in Y, but the LHR 777s will only have 9 across? How does that work? Will they be putting those bloody awful seats from the 788 into the LGW 777s or what?

Sounds hideous.

Not just Gatwick.

Heathrow 77Ws going 10-across, too.

Ouch.

Reminiscent of the old 'how many marshmallows can you fit in your mouth' contest. Crazy, does it benefit pax in any way?

to be fair to BA it's no worse than anyone else. Virgin out of LGW is even more weighted towards Y and if this is a splitting of the fleet it actually makes sense to do this on a bucket and spade base.

Most leisure flyers out of LGW won't notice the denser Y. For me the (probable) removal of the cupboard and loss of the row 1 privacy is a bigger issue.

Edit: just seen post #9. that changes things a little.

At least the Gatters fleet will have all new seats, IFE etc. Surely some consolation for the irregular leisure traveller?

Emirates or Qatar going east, Virgin going west ? Dunno. but as is often said here, a race to the bottom and constant de-valuing of the product. In all classes.
NOT the world's favourite airline, it's not even the UK's favourite.
To fly, to piss you off..........
