In terms of the 10 abreast 777s, I can't believe FTers are surprised.

The competition have been doing it since last year, so it was surely only a matter of time before BA followed suit.

In terms of the 787-9s, the report seems to say less F on those. Does that mean we'll see aircraft with one solitary row of F?

Surprised by the outrage here - thought nobody on this forum ever travels in Y?

I read that to mean that more 787-9s are arriving (with current config) and they have smaller F cabin than the aircraft they are replacing. I didn't read it that they are reducing the current 8 seats.

One can still have feelings for one's fellow man, surely?

I do 100k miles a year down the back, company policy, but yes in general most folks round these parts consider us down the back as ballast.

I earn my TPs in J & F (when someone else is paying); I spend the Avios in J when Mrs R is travelling with me, but often in W or Y even for long-haul if it's just with friends - came back rom DFW in Y the other week - with the right seat selection, I actually found Y pretty comfortable and a decent product on the 77W - suspect with 10 abreast my view would change....(flew out for that trip in W on a 787; the 9-abreast tight Y seats down the back looked horrendous)

I appreciate your contribution to keeping the aircraft within trim limits, Sir.

And I am aware that a lot of folks round here have a company Y travel policy, so you are not alone.

+1, as I've been saying for a while. However the loss of 2 toilets is a major negative!

Think you're misreading that. Point is that paying F load factor is low on current fleet (i.e. 12/14/17 F on 777/747) but 789 addresses that by having a smaller cabin of 8.

I see nothing wrong with it, as long as they keep you fed and watered. Oh no, wait!

I see what you mean about the 789s in terms of wording.

I think you're right, and I have misinterpreted...but it leads to another intriguing question.

I think AF restrict F redemptions to Flying Blue Platinum level only - as they only ever have a maximum of 8 (minimum of 4) F seats in the cabin.

Would BA follow suit, and allow only GCH/GGLs to redeem in F?

Probably not a conversation for today, but a thought nonetheless.

Making the 77Ws is a bit cruel as they are used on the ultra long haul Kangaroo route. Ouch!

Hopefully they'll be cleaning the LGW 777s too. Absolutely disgusting level of filthiness on our last two flights.

Agree - this absolutely is the final straw for BA with me - I think I may well use up the rest of my Avios and be done with it.

easyjet really are a much better alternative these days, great crew and BoB with reasonable prices. Cruz want's to make an airline - which represents such an incredible nation of class - to something that is the pits, and I now refuse to pay any money to a company that wants to do that - even Ł35 for a RFS...

I think this occurred years ago on certain leisure routes?

Not great for those sitting there but it appears to be the industry norm?
