BA have LHR-HEL-TLL in J/Y for about Ł235 return, yielding 200TPs and offering the possibility of a ride on the Finnair A350 or a blue & yellow Airbus (for a €130 surcharge). See also this thread for more details and discussion of the fare.

FAQ

Where to sit on the HEL-TLL-HEL legs?
If the flight is operated by an ATR-72, then at the back because boarding and disembarking is through stairs at the back of the plane. However, for more legroom the first row (which can be row 1 or 2 depending on the ATR) is the best choice. In HEL there will be a bus transfer, in TLL the plane will pull up at the gate and stairs are used to go one level up to the departures and arrivals area (same level).
Seatmaps for Finnair planes can be found here.

Row 1 on the E90 provides the best leg room.

Please note that this flight usually takes between 15 and 22 minutes. During the flight, a crew member walks through the cabin with a basket of chocolates. No drinks are served and the fasten seat belt sign usually remains on for the duration. No chocolates on the ATR72 flights, unfortunately.

Also note that overhead bin space on the ATR-72 is limited and you might be asked to put your luggage under the seat in front of you. They do not offer gate bag check in.

How to get to town?
Information on public transportation has been provided here (courtesy of Valgamaa).

Where to stay in Tallinn?
Information have been provided here.

Where to eat/drink in Tallinn?
Here, here and here

How much time do I need at TLL to go through security?
TLL airport is very small. With fasttrack you can be at the gate within 10 minutes. Boarding for the 6.10am flight is officially 5.30 or so, but it usually starts later than that. AY's ATR usually leaves from gate 5, the E90 left from gate 9. Anyways, it doesn't really matter where it leaves, because the airport is so small.

Do I get lounge access at TLL?
Yes, show your HEL-LHR boarding pass also to get access.
For directions, please use the TLL terminal map.

Do I get lounge access at HEL?
Yes, since your outbound to LHR is in Business Class. The Schengen Lounge for HEL-TLL is located near gates 23/24 (one level up, access with status), the non Schengen lounge between gates 35 and 36. For directions, please use the HEL terminal map.
There are reports of non-status passengers being granted access to the Schengen Lounge at HEL for the TLL bound flight if shown the J boarding pass from LHR to HEL.

TP/avios earnings?
If your ticket is issued by BA, you will earn full TP and avios (+tier bonus)
If your ticket is issued by AY, you will earn full TP and base avios (no tier bonus).
LHR-HEL will earn 80TP each way, HEL-TLL 20 TP each way.
Please use the calculator on BA.com to determine the exact amount of avios earned.

Is it possible to do a back to back (B2B) at TLL?
Yes. You disembark at the same level as departures are. Simply wait in the gate area until the flight is boarding.

When and where can I check in online?
Use the AY PNR to check in online 36h before your flight in the AY App and get a mobile boarding pass.

What time should I get to TLL airport
Slightly earlier than you'd think.

The way my brain has been working recently, I'll probably need a large placard saying "My name is Xenole. If found, return to....." just in case

I appear to have checked in for Saturday's flights (was checking in for tomorrow's flight from MAN). No sign of any seat changes so hopefully still at the window, although BA managed to shift me back two rows on the domestic despite CE being virtually empty.

Dear John, its not you, its me!

well, actually, its Mrs Leachster who has bust her knee and there is no way I'm leaving the house this weekend - I am possibly the most miserable person on the entire FT board at this moment!

So, it is with deep, deep, deep regret I am going to miss the do. I found flyertalk just over a year and a half ago and have visited DUB, IAD, LAX and HNL (on my first TP run) and called in at Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo, Auckland, Seattle and Alaska (vicariously) through others on the TP board.

Flying shorthaul every week has been so much better since I got my gold card and I was looking forward to buying everyone on this trip a large beer to say a great big thank you to helping me along the way.

So, even now, I have more questions...

1. this weekend is rammed, is there anyway I could transfer the flight to anyone else who would like it (I have a vague recollection, many years ago, that you could 'name-change' and I presume there is no personal benefit to cancelling now).
2. I also have a Hilton booking which I will have to cancel in the next few hours - if the hotel is rammed and anyone wants me to cancel at a particular time (to open a room for a short period) then please PM me with a time.
3. I updated the google doc last week and obviously ordered some food that I wont be there to pay for...if there is any cost involved then can someone please PM me and I can send some paypal or something.
4. I have really poor internet over the next few days, can anyone suggest any other Saturday nights that are potentially available? If there is a date with plenty of other FTers then that would be better (I know there is the wiki posting but my internet is beyond poor at the moment and wont let me click into it).

ps. Ive been staying in Hiltons for over 3 years and this is the first invitation to the exec lounge I have ever had *wipes a tear

I hope, and trust, everyone will have a fantastic time *weeps uncontrollably

yours, Leachster

Oh leachster, after so heartily jumping on the FT bandwagon this is sad news not to make your first gathering. Still, and it must be said, looking after Mrs Leachster might be a tad more important than discussion of tier point accrual.

On the food point the pre-orders did not carry any financial obligation and were just to help kitchen cope with any advance preparations. I will have time to tweek it tomorrow when I drop by restaurant.

On your other crafty suggestions I hope someone might come along to make use. Interesting pre-Do IRROPS which might yield a benefit somewhere...

And megolman - thank you for the badges. I wholly approve!

on this occasion it wasn't the tiers...it was the beers! She always has the other knee (reminds me of a fabulous "Pete and Dud" sketch that always make me chuckle!).

thanks for sorting the resto out...hope to bump into you on another gathering.

I got SEQ001 for my MAN-LHR flight and nothing remotely close after that.

Anyway it's 5:22am so I'm enjoying my first beer of the day
