Why can't a BA burger be like this??

So AllActionKen reached Gold this year and on Wednesday we left London so he took me into Galleries First. I have to say that I was seriously underwhelmed... I had a burger which was cold, soggy and served with 5 hard 'chips'
Today he has treated me to The 1st Class Pier lounge in HK.... it is like a 5 star hotel!
I had an amazing starter of scallops followed by a burger which makes the BA look like worse than a McDonald's!! It had truffle mayonnaise and fantastic chips...
mmmm
(If I could work out how to upload a photo I would but I have had too much wine to concentrate on it )

Customer feedback has told us people dont like the burger.

so we have upgraded and put a Mcdonalds franchise in the lounge complex

The other half used my gifted GC to sample the 1st lounge in HKG last week and went a little crazy on the food ordering (pics attached), but they all looked lovely. (Burger bun looks very glazed though).
We then spent a few hours in the CCR last Friday, and while nice, I noted how tired and dirty a lot of the furniture is looking. CX definitely offers some excellent lounge options out of HKG.

Looks good! Can you get into this lounge as a BA Gold travelling in CX steerage?

I would genuinely love this, as long as it's a Turkish McDonald's that serves lamb burgers.

All the CX lounges in HKG are under standard Oneworld rules, so any OWE gets you in.

It is rather delicious, isn't it? The mango sticky rice for dessert is also a must have!

As everyone knows Cathay have a huge cost advantage over poor BA which allows them to deliver a product like this. After all CX are located in a one of the worlds most expensive cities with salaries on par with Europe......oh.

The food in The Pier is very good, restaurant quality for sure. Both times i've been in service has been poor though (possibly becuase I don't wear a suit).

That said, I've always enjoyed the BA burger and will indulge again when I'm in GF in a few weeks. I'm sad the aranchini with pea mousse was enhanced away after an all too short showing
