Theoretical scenario (at the moment):

My colleague cannot fly on the trip she is supposed to do with me, and we have to cancel. Insurance aside (since they may claim it as a pre-existing medical condition), what would we get back from the ticket price if we cancel. Here are the taxes (I know the flight component is non refundable so have omitted that bit):

So can anyone tell us what the chances of a) changing the name is on the ticket and b) changing the name and the flight to the following day which now has W availability cheaper than Y(?!?) (Fear not, dear FTers, I will be in F :D)

I can easily answer the question on changing the name on the ticket - you can't. BA do not allow for name changes unfortunately.

changing the name - no chance

refund - all you listed EXCEPT the BA YQ surcharge. Less admin fee.

Thanks guys, that's what I thought it would be. Looks like we will be relying on the insurance to cover the cost if it comes to it.....
