I am suprised some wag on here hasn't suggested that the spare A318 would be ideal for the loadings on the LBA route.

Perhaps as an addition to the existing flights for the more discerning Yorkshire folk, although since we already have Club Yorkshire I don't know what the A318 J product would be called!

I would prefer Club Boycott. It would provide excellent competition to Yorkshire Airlines' "Alan Bennett" Class, with a similar number of non-stop destinations.

I wonder if this is just the start of BA perhaps expanding more LH routes out of LCY. Odyssey Airlines is a UK based startup airline which is set to launch operations from London City Airport in 2017.

And probably cease before the start of 2018.

What makes you so sure? The have a strong board and are claiming an "all-new interior configuration, windows that are 40% larger than other aircraft, the longest fully flat beds in the commercial market, and many other features that we can’t wait to tell you about!"

Even I can count the number of sucessful business class only airlines. Marketing chaps have a bit of a habit of over-selling their products; strange that they apparent can't wait to tell us things and then do exactly that. (make us wait).

Interesting the comment regarding the window size claim, similar marketing ploy to the DH Comet.

I'm really surprised. This would be an easy route for BA to make work if they only understood how travel policies work.

Add £600 to each fare and still call it J
Give 210 TPs
Up the on-board treatment to F.
Provide cars in London and NYC

A few days ago it showed the 003 on Fridays - I've been checking as I'm planning a CWLCY flight next August.
So. I haven't been on FT for ages. Haven't even had the time, or need, to lurk - young family, new career, no work travel, no spare money. But finally I am close to booking, and need the answer to a quick question about the Amex 2-4-1 and open jaws...

Because I have been planning a trip on CWLCY for years, ever since it started. (I know there are better uses of Avios, but I just liked the idea of flying equipment I'd never been on/a small plane over the Atlantic.) I have saved the Avios, got the 2-4-1, and most importantly got the wife to humour me that it should be part of our 10th wedding anniversary weekend away next August. I planned three free nights in Hiltons (1 from points, two from Hilton credit cards we were going to take out next spring) so it needed to be over a weekend, and for various reasons departing on a Friday and flying back Monday night was ideal.

And so I log on to ask whether the best way to book an open jaw 2-4-1 is to bag the outbound when it's released and then phone to sort out the return when it is available, and also whether this also applies to a trip which is outbound LCY-JFK / inbound JFK-LHR-MAN, and how to avoid being charged a change fee by the agent.

And the top post on the forum is this. And I click through thinking "Phew, well that's okay because I wanted to go on BA1" - and then discover there's no flights at all on Fridays next August.

It's Saturday that's not got a flight. LCY is closed on Saturday afternoons and Sunday mornings.

FYI, days are numbered from Monday, so Friday is day 5. There are no flights on Saturday as LCY has a curfew.

It would need to refuel somewhere if flying from LCY.

QR ditched their all-J A320 aircraft on LHR-DOH earlier this year.

If you have an LHR slot, it makes no sense to use it for a sub-50 seater aircraft (unless you are KL or AZ of course).
