Automatic Barriers coming to BA lounges

Just returning from GRU-MIA-LHR-LIS,in J on AA, upgraded in Miami to F, (nothing special, 773),prefer BA F, though as everyone knows the AA 773 J hard product is far better than Yang Yang BA J,

But to the main point of this post, just passed through GF in T3, talking about BA "enhancements", with lounge guardian, and told they are going to install Automatic gates into BA lounges,REALLY, Wow,along with mandatory automated check in, Willie and Alex really are ramping up the spiral to the bottom,

On reading the thread title, I seriously thought this was going to be a tongue-in-cheek post regarding BA's enhancements.

If true (and I'm still not sure) BA needs a spade to continue their race to the bottom.

How will that work with guesting? Or will that be enhanced?

How do you deal with you guests? Computer will say no, automatically, requires human intervention

Maybe they should follow AC's example at the likes of YYT. No attendant, just a door with a code you can get at check in.

I can't remember seeing people complain about the automatic barriers at the TK lounge at IST etc though.

Same booking tends to work. Or guest shows pass to attendant who will see the card holders details already on screen.

How this can be viewed as a negative is beyond me!

Its easy to program. LH manage it as well as TK. You just go first. Heck, even the fast track at KRK can do it. But in every case there is a staffer present, with LH they are verifying the info on the screen.

Typically, you can go back as many times as you lack after partaking in the Premium shopping experiences .

Surely shouldn't be that difficult. Card holder goes in, automatic gate asks if you are travelling together with a guest, who follows behind, gate opens subject to guest being on a oneworld flight .

There will still need to be a person to resolve issues. Or maybe this is the end of guesting.....
