Mykonos - no online checkin?
Am I right in thinking there is no online check in from Mykonos? How does it work then, turn up at the airport and get what your given? If I pay for a seat will it be honoured?
As an aside can anybody advise of the loads on the BA 2220 JMK-LCY.
Travelling back alone & would like a free seat next to me if possible!
Thank you

No OLCI from JMK (and JTR, Santorini, too).
Everyone has to check-in at the desks which open at T-2. There's one CE and one ET line. When I travelled last month pre-reserved seats were honoured, but there really aren't any bad seats on the E190 and given that both front & rear doors are used on arrival at LCY it doesn't matter where you sit. Flight was perhaps 2/3rds full at most.

Yes, the airports in Greece use their own local system and so OLCI doesn't work outside ATH and SKG. The other airports all require you to turn up at the check-in desk even if HBO. Apps don't work either. Pre-paid seats will be honoured, as will seats selected in MMB due to status or ticket conditions.
At this time of the year I wouldn't count on an empty seat, but you are in an E190 so the leg room is about as generous as it gets for shorthaul. BA aren't selling seats on that service. Well Y1, which means almost zero. If there is an empty seat to be found it may be right at the back (row 23 and 24), which bearing in mind they disembark front and rear at LCY isn't necessarily bad.

So 7 years down the line and one way club Europe fares of over 900 Euros and still you cannot use OnLine check in.

Actually you can but the BA web site said no online checkin then changed its mind. BA IT strikes again

Aegean Airlines, Transavia and easyJet all have OLCI. So why not BA.

Some will require it forever, no matter how much BA argues a case. TIA and DBV are both local mandates, for example - the only alternative is not to fly there. I suspect all the Greek islands with more than 3 or so flights a week will move at some point.

not sure about BA but all the Greek islands I visited have OLCI with Aegean even the small airports like Ikaria, Kythira, Milos or Leros.
