Could someone remind me how long the 'UK Access Code' takes to arrive?

I've had Global Entry for a while, but am now trying to register my wife.

Best,

M

How did you request it though?

Did it just come after registering your Username etc?

You can just make an appointment anywhere just to meet the deadline and then keep shifting later or move it to somewhere you can go once a slot comes up.

For me it was overnight. Typically no more than a few days.

You only need to make the appointment, not attend it in the given time frame. so you can pick any future date and change it as necessary.

Are there any benefits of GE over ESTA?

Substantially shorter queues at airports in the US when you land.

Bear in mind you need an ESTA/visa regardless of whether you have GE or not.

For those going in for an interview, I seem to recall that the US Embassy doesn't let visitors bring their smartphones in, so lock it away somewhere secure before going there. The pub owners in the neighborhood do a brisk business caring for the smartphones of people that aren't aware of the rule, and it will cost you more than a few pints.

That said, GE can be a real time-saver. With hand baggage only, I can be unlocking my front door 30 minutes after the crew crack open the aircraft door on arrival. Except for last Sunday, when the GE terminals at SEA were down and I joined the scrum with passengers arriving from Beijing and Frankfurt.

Thumbs up GE ONLY Thru MIA...

Might apply and see what happens and read the info about it tonight
I could NOT even imagine going thru MIA WITHOUT GE! I would fly thru another airport just to avoid the Customs & Immigration lines at MIA.

HOWEVER, GE is a total & complete game changer. We flew thru MIA in May coming from South America. Total time to get thru GE, 15 seconds!!!
