"Enhancements" for August

CW
Choice of starters removed for a one month trial.
The starter from London will be a tomato, mozzarella and avocado salad.
Icecream removed from the Club Kitchen.
WT/WT plus
Mid flight tucks boxes removed.
Fever tree is coming to all cabins.

Arrival lounge invitations to only be given out for flights arriving before 12.00, does that mean that the lounge is now going to close at 12.00 instead of 14.00?

One month trial? What will they be measuring? Passenger dissatisfaction? If low to moderate then make it a permanent feature and if severe then extend trial ?

Well it seems that many of our competitors do not offer a choice and they are doing the trial in a period when not as many customers are travelling on business, go figure?
Reading this it could possibly be that they introduce this in the summer months only and not all year round.

What kind of feedback do they look at when they "trial" some of these cuts?

Losing the choice of starter is the sort of thing I wouldn't necessarily think to complain about on a survey because if I hadn't read it here I might not immediately notice it was gone, which might lead a data analyst to think it doesn't matter. But it contributes to a general impression of cheapness that encourages me and especially the other half to want to book elsewhere in future.

Lovely, so if there's something on the starter I don't want to eat (such as cheese), I can't get a choice

By the sound of it AA now has better food than BA in all ways, and the BA food is now worse than the AA food even before the recent AA improvements.
Edit: it seems like AA don't offer a starter choice either.

I am also curious what the success criteria for the trial are.

If the arrival lounge is to close at 12:00, that rather sucks for those passengers arriving on a flight scheduled to arrive much after 10:30 where it could take an hour to get to the lounge through non-EU immigration and who would still like a shower and some sort of decent breakfast before moving on to the rest of their day.

Another sign the new CEO is clueless about running a premium airline.

I mean, who would want ice cream in August? Nah, save it for that peak winter demand. Though maybe that is what they do in CEOs Chelsea ghetto.

The share price says investors have already made their mind up about him.

I wouldn't eat that starter anyway so by refusing it, that will probably tell BA that there's no demand.

They might as well lose the entire club kitchen and pass round the basket of ambient snacks instead.

Loss of ice cream is extreme cheapness but probably survivable.

However, with the loss of the second service (OK, the introduction of the ambient snack) long-haul pax in economy and even in WTP (the premium economy offering) will need to go eight hours with only one meal in the early part of the flight and literally nothing else unless they bring a packed snack. That's the sort of thing that causes mutiny.

All I can say is thank goodness my TATL in August is operated by AA. Ice cream and a choice of starter!

Thanks for letting us know about these CIHY. A race to the bottom indeed

It's going to get to the point where air and water are offered, and nothing else. Hopefully the final enhancement won't be a choice between the two

Honestly ba is just making it so much easier NOT to choose them... I just flew 4 LH flights in ba "FIRST" class it was a okay BUSINESS CLASS EXPERIENCE! But CW I have avoided and will now avoid even more

Not sure how much you can enhance and still get people to fly with you?
