Anyone know the answer to question above?

I had flights out of IAD and CLT in December and had no meet & greet experience, nor was there any Concierge Key invitation at boarding.

Last weekend however, both my flights from BOS and CLT invited CK to board first. I did not go up to board because I was't sure I would be recognised as having CK-equivalent GGL status. No other CK's boarded in either instance, so I wondered if the invite had been intended for me or if it is just standard practice now. At CLT, right after the gate agent scanned my boarding pass as I boarded when First passengers were called, a (presumably) Premium Services Rep who had been standing right by the jetway entrance for the past twenty minutes peeked at my name on the boarding pass and came up to say hello and said she had been looking for me to make sure I got on my flight (which was strange because I had been at the gate for a solid 30mins prior to boarding and I hadn't seen anyone looking for me nor had they made an announcement by name). She did have a copy of my boarding card in her hand though and I appeared to be the only CK/GGL on the flight.

strange thing is that I got CK escort from ORD lounge to gate 3 hours after you were there - but it might have been that CK peeps weren't there / working / free at the ungodly hour that you traveled at!

I didn't realise boarding had changed though had heard the CK announcement in ORD when my escort walked me straight to the front and boarding.

I have had it in JFK that a lady was at the gate and when I scanned my BP as part of normal boarding, she said "i've been looking for you" - which made me wonder where exactly she had been looking as I had been in the flagship lounge (a pretty obvious place for a BA gold to be) and then at the gate (and there was no announcement).

Happy days.

AA never recognised, officially, CK as a tier, so it was all quite hush-hush.

Now however, they have ensured it is recognised, and thus the boarding order has changed, according to the AA website...info below.

Or they don't either as the case may be: I've had a couple of cases where on tight connections, ck agents went to check on me in my second flight seat confessing that they had come to help me at the arrival gate 'but you had apparently already gone!'

I see it quite a bit, particularly at stations where, like one of my most regular destination there's no lounge so I'll hang at the gate. Several times in the last year I've heard a passenger or two be paged by name and then they'll be sat in F and I see black CK tags on the rollerbag or other carry on.

Well, isn't this funny!

Mrs opalfruit has recently hit GGL for the first time, and today she was transiting through JFK without me - also for the first time. We've travelled together through JFK loads, and I've transited there 9 times in the last year.

What happens? CK team lady approaches her in the new AA Intl First Lounge, introduces herself, and offers her the Caddilac Escalade transfer to the plane for her flight to PHX!!

I think it's me. Do I smell, or something, AA?

Hmm, maybe you have a triple negative double helix score with AA. What did you do to offend them in a past life?

Don't forget that AA Exec Plat is black so black tags could be 'just' them and being called to the gate may mean that their upgrade has cleared - which is how AA operates: their Exec Plat get pretty much unlimited upgrades on domestic flights and those whose upgrades have been cleared are called to the desk.

Could be CK's of course - am just trying it in as yes, as you say, on your average flight, there will be a handful or so of Exec Plats being upgraded and they have black tags.

To see KARFA's face when me and chris1979 informed him in Chicago that while we were sat in the JFK flagship the CK lady came up to ask if I was Mr Jamier45 and would I like to take the Cadillac to the aircraft again was great fun!(only happened 3 weeks earlier with Tobias-UK) My 'companion' chris1979 was also allowed to tag along with me

Actually, we were the very first passengers to ride in the new Cadillac ^

In these particular instances it was definitely CKs already in F being preboarded.

On one occasion I was sat next to the CK at the gate and their F boarding pass was very visible and then I saw the CK tags on their bags as I was stowing mine in the overhead locker beside theirs. On the other I was hovering near the podium and overheard the interaction.

Thinking about this it is a bit odd that some of the BA GGL TP runners are getting AA CK treatment which is a program designed around revenue - rumour being at least $50,000 per year on AA. I guess AA cannot differentiate between those BA GGL s who achieve their status by flying I class on long TP runs as opposed to those BA GGLs who fly mostly F or full fare business (or maybe they can :-))
