Wow, you can fly almost every aircraft of the entire long haul fleet on that route!

Quite! I was thinking of going via BOS on my SFO/HNL trips, but the BOS-LAX would probably kill me.

Which route is losing the A380 for that period... Or are there some more coming?

So four flights a week (the fourth frequency on Wednesday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday) are being cut? Along with any departure after 2120? (BOS has forever had a 2230ish departure). Plus the late westbound departure is moving up an hour.

What happens after March?

BOS-LAX is fine in (relative) isolation - I did it in May, but was only connecting on to SFO and had stayed overnight at BOS. Coming off a long-haul and/or with onward HNL connection might be a bit much.

One rotation/week on 77W? What's the point of that?

Optimum use of available aircraft? Additional capacity?

No loss on other routes I don't think.

BA have wanted the A380 into Boston for a long time but have been waiting on Boston to have the infrastructure.

What's the appeal of the A380, it's always late and the seats are the same as other aircraft?

I agree, give me a knackered old 747 any day!

Is the BOS route so popular that they can fill an A380?

In all cabins you're getting at least some improvement over 777s, whether it's more space, side bins, better IFE, guaranteed updated WTP product and so on. The noise, air and pressure quality is somewhat better, though not as good as the 787s. The biggest improvement - relative to passenger numbers - is the WTP cabin, in my view, it's quite spacious and quiet. In absolute terms it will be the better First cabin. You should give it a go sometime!

And BA have found them incredibly popular with their passengers, there's no difficulty filling them up. A small part of that is that nervous flyers seem to have a strong preference for new aircraft, which I admit is illogical on every level, but some 20-30% of flyers are apparently in this category.

I totally agree, the best combination of aircraft and crewing in BA's fleet, my only disappointment is they didn't hit on this fantastic improvement 5 years earlier. Unfortunately the usual choice is between unrefurb'd jumbos and a motley collection of 777 frames in various formats.

Sounds like you're not licensed on the 380. Some great destinations ; )
