Unhappy Combing Avios and Money

My apologies if this question has been addressed before. I could not locate an answer. Is it possible to book a flight using Avios and money but using a credit card not belonging to me to pay. I have tried to use my husbands card to pay for the flight but when I asked if the person paying is travelling and i say no. My name does not appear in the drop down list of the people on the household account(my husband is not listed on my HH account) Any suggestions. BA have been very unhelpful. I have been past around
Thanks

Welcome to Flyertalk and the BA board, divababy, it's good to see you here, and I hope that you can continue to participate in this forum.

I am not an expert on HHA, I think I've seen this question before a long time back. I was vaguely under the impression that you could just overwrite your name into the area concerned. Hopefully a HHA user will be able to confirm shortly.

Hi divababy, welcome to FT. Technically the credit card needs to be in the name of the member whose account is being used for the redemption. I wouldn't falsify the answer to the 'is the cardholder travelling?' question, it can lead to issues later on (servicing, check-in, etc).

Can you not add your husband to your HHA and then make the booking logged in as him?

And that's fine, as when it comes to 'is the cardholder travelling?' you can honestly answer no and pay as him.

I have had "similar" issues. Called BAEC and they did the booking waiving the charge
