A380 @ bos ?

Been a few times that I get stuck on the tarmac landing at BOS in the evening and the captain explained this is because gates are being prepared for the A380 so they're not all available.

Is BA going to fly their A380 to BOS ? I saw this was discussed a while back in the forum but is there an official view from BA ?

It's strongly rumoured, including amongst the A380 flight crew. Haven't seen anything official yet.

It's 100% coming to Boston, the lounge is being upgraded in preparation.

Rather a short hop for an A-380 - I assume the idea is capacity-driven, and will allow BA to drop another rotation to free up another airframe, as they did with IAD.

Seems like an unusual route choice for the A380. Are they maintaining the frequency of the route? Has demand risen?

The idea of the shorter hops was also to get maximum use out of the frames as well was it not? Rather than have them sit round at LHR for hours on end

Would probably be put in the 11:15am time slot with a return around 6:55pm

And let's just hope CBP at BOS will adjust their staffing rotas to accommodate the A380s that BA and others will start flying as soon as the terminal is equipped for them! Pretty tight already when a couple of planes, of any capacity, arrive simultaneously!

Logan can barely cope with luggage off a 744, A380 passengers will be waiting a long time for the last bag - if the CBP doesn't hold them for long enough beforehand!

I got through immigration at Logan in about 4-5 minutes on Good Friday, arriving at around 8PM. The new machines for those who were using an ESTA for the second time or more really speeded things up. Bags didn't take long either. To be fair, I was towards the front of a 777 CW cabin.

^ BOS is one of the many airports in the USA to benefit from the kiosks. It's a shame there's no sign of them arriving at JFK T7 any time soon.

I can't find anything more. My August trip is still showing 777 and 747. I'm hoping it stays that way.

Similar experience here on the later BA239 in F a couple of weeks ago. From wheels down to room in Hilton Logan took about 20 mins. Straight to machines to empty CBP desk and priority tags either working or a case of good luck.

Does that mean they might finally get a bathroom in the lounge?
