There's a new A380 coming soon, so it would be good to see the proposed routes, they seem to be changing quite a bit.
I'd love to see CPT get one but not sure if it can handle one yet?

The whole 'flagship' thing is massively overblown on FT. BA doesn't fly the A380 on any routes for 'flagship' status. It's all about capacity. It flies where it makes most sense from a capacity and fleet management perspective.
Incidentally it's still operating from T3 but to YVR instead of MIA.

A380 hits the route again 01 July once they take delivery of the next aircraft. Will operate on BA208/209. I have seen it switch back to 747 later in the year

I have flights on the A380 to Miami booked next year in late March and back in early April so it's flying the route then (well, for the moment anyway!)
EDIT: Oops, just remembered (had my first sip of coffee so now my brain is in gear) that it's the A380 out in March but a 747 back in April so I'm assuming the A380 stops on that route at the end of March perhaps?

From the beginning of northern summer 2017 (ie from the last Sunday in March), both the flights are currently showing as 747s.
Will this change as the northern summer 2017 schedule is firmed up? Who knows?

YMMV, and maybe I was lucky, but I did just that last November and it was fine. I much preferred the A380 in CW to 747 (even upper deck) or 777 as I find a lot of BAs older aircraft interiors can be really tired now. T3 lounge was OK, though not quite as nice as T5 Galleries I have to admit. Miami customs (on a sample of one trip) seemed no worse than at NYC, though I understand it can be.

Im on this flight end of July with the family and Im looking forward to my first CW trip on an A380. As I dont want to inflict my children on other flyers we were going to avoid the lounges. However my expectations at most US customs locations is a 3hr wait whilst my children scratch my eyeballs out and harass the local passengers thus ruining the previous 9hrs.
