Are BA dumbing down the CCR?
Saw this when I was in the CCR on Monday. It does make me wonder if standards are slipping. It's the Concorde Room, not the Concorde Lounge, but if BA can't get it right, then others are going to call it by the wrong name....

Having both the Sun and the Mirror in CCR really is dumbing down the place. Only picked up Time Out as it had Switzerland on it. Nothing in the publication about things to do in Switzerland though
Still seems odd that they put Lounge rather than Terrace or Room, both of which would be understandable, since I only saw this on the terrace after having breakfast..

There are two all day menus; (1) the one in your photograph: Concorde Lounge: this is the all day menu intended to be served in the lounge/terrace area; and (2) Concorde Dining: this is the (larger) menu intended to be served in the Concorde Dining Room and at the high tables in front of the bar. There are similar menus for breakfast.

There are two menus in the CCR after midday. The Dining Menu which is placed in the dining area and on the high tables, and the Lounge Menu (as shown in your photo) which is placed everywhere else. You can order off either menu wherever you are sat though.
The "Lounge" in your menu therefore refers to the menu type not the lounge itself.

I would point out that The Times, Telegraph, Financial Times, Wall Street Journal, le Monde, Die Welt, al ahram and several other publications of that ilk are also available.

What does "CCR" stand for in the context of this thread - because if it's ConCorde Room, then we all look a bit silly don't we.

Crewmember: "Would you like a newspaper, sir?"
Gentleman just arrived in his his CW seat LHR-USA: "Yes, which do you have?"
Crewmember: "Weekend FT, Times, .... Daily Mail..."
Gentleman: "I'll have the trashiest one, Daily Mail please".
Clearly some BA passengers want something low quality occasionally

I am glad you posted this OP as I saw the same last week and thought it was funny given the annoyance that is caused when British Airways is called BritAir by our American cousins! Still, on occasion I see his highness CWS refer to the Admirals Club as the Admirals Lounge which also brings a smile to my face! Thankfully our American cousins are more forgiving!
Am glad we now have an answer and that it isn't that BA can't remember the name of its own flagship lounges
