BA SFO mgr sacked

The BA mgr at SFO was sacked after he poorly handled overnight delays in recent months. Apparently he was rarely on station and would try to manage from home.

It's rare for BA to sack someone so there must've been some grievous failures.

You may be thinking of the lounge manager - not the overall manager of BA's SFO operation?

Always sad to here people being sacked. Hopefully there were good reasons and fair warning made. Best wishes to all involved.

I think the suave gentleman who runs the lounge (very well) and the station manager are not the same person.

I really don't think this type of speculative discussion about someone's employment being terminated has a place on Flyertalk.

Then we could change the topic to be "There will be a new station manager at SFO, predecessor failed to manage overnight delays properly." Better handling of operations problems is of interest to flyertalkers, and everyone.

Definitely agree - very distasteful to speculate like this

My inbox has been chiming all evening. We'll close this thread as it would seem most unkind to speculate on the personal circumstances surrounding the BA staff member concerned.

Thanks for your understanding.
