GUF2 - very basic questions
 

With apologies...I have searched a dozen GUF2 posts and they're mostly about eligibility and intricate TnCs.

My membership year ends today, 8th Feb, and I've managed to accumulate 2,520 TPs. The final 40 TPs posted this morning. :cool: I've never attained this before so I have a few dumb questions:

When will be awarded a GUF2? Is it a "wait three days" thing like status upgrades?

Does it appear in my account online? If so, where?

How do I use one? Can I use it online?

Usually appears quite quickly so 1-3 days after you hit the target.

Yes, it will show on your BAEC homepage under "My eVouchers". I don't think this section appears until you actually have a voucher of some kind.

You can use it online or by phone. If you go to the reward booking tool and do book & upgrade it will show as an option - so you can apply the GUF using this to a reward or revenue booking.

Am in exactly the same situation and could not find the answer. 2535, the final 45 of which were taken on Saturday and appeared overnight last night. I was envisaging a scenario whereby I reset to zero and had to chase the GUF2, but it looks like my TPs above threshold will have been present for 24 hours so I will be ok.

In terms of usage I want to use this for a specific trip a deux in late Feb 17, is there a chance it could get extended a little bit beyond 1 year?

That was from a few months ago. Currently have unused 2 x companion vouchers, and one GUF2. They do get used so I don't have many unused at any one time.

KARFA, thanks for the detailed explanation. Like snuffi, my flight was taken on Saturday and appeared posted this morning.

My mini-dashboard shows I have earned a voucher so I have faith it will appear in the next few days.

Although I haven't done it myself, based on other reports on here it seems a 6 months extension of a GUF is available if you call and ask.

Yes, the validity can be extended by six months, once per voucher, if you call the Gold line and ask. Officially I think it's discretionary on their end, but I've not heard of it being refused.

However, it's worth mentioning that you only need to book by the expiry date, not fly, so if you know already what the trip's going to be then you're not likely to need it extending.

As a data point, my GUF2 appeared overnight last night.

So >2500TP flight taken on Sat 6th, TPs post 1am Sunday 8th, TPs reset to zero 1am Monday 9th + GUF2 posts.

My experience was exactly the same.

I guess technically the TPs posted 1am Monday 8th, and the TP reset and voucher posted at 1am on Tuesday 9th (i.e the middle of the night between Monday and Tuesday)
