Isn't that brewed by Heineken in Singapore? BA starting World War III! You should have had your fill of them anyway on the hop down to LHR! Either way, I quite fancy one now.

Is that the best they can do for Chinese New Year? How about some nice food on Monday…. (maybe it's coming….)

By promo is the Tiger being served from a booth or something like that? It's always been available in GF hasn't it?

Indeed, you know it is gash when it sells at Tesco for 6 for 12. Or so Keith's mum says.

I'll be in Hong Kong and Taipei for New Year so hopefully will find something a little more authentic.

Tiger isn't too bad. Plenty in food places in Singapore but not what I could call specialist. As said, more genetic like Heineken.

Will probably stick to something bubbly.

I was wondering the same thing, as yes, I believe it is standard in GF and GC for that matter. It is under the old Asia Pacific Brewery umbrella (Heineken now) but that's as far as it goes for specifically China I think.

In the large airy seating area on the right as you enter GF there is a drinks counter. Half of it is taken over by the display of bottled beer and Tiger glasses. There is a lovely flame red haired Irish lady pouring and serving at your seat.

Is Tiger really a specialist beer? I thought it was produced pretty much everywhere these days and knocked out on a 3 for a fiver basis at Tesco?

I would have said something that involves particular craft, experimentation etc and/or is produced in limited quantities or in some way niche.

In other words not mass produced stuff sold in supermarkets which is what I have always seen Tiger as.

I agree that Tiger is a standard brew these days, but there have been a number of "special promos" recently, gin vodka etc in GF so I thought I would give it a similar title for consistency! Hope it is not too confusing

I must have just missed you - I have just left the lounge to go to EDI. Tried to teach said lady to say Happy New Year in Cantonese (see post no1 for transliteration)
