Earn Avios with Hailo
1 Avios per £
100 Avios for an airport transfer: https://blog.hailoapp.com/2015/09/01...-fly-together/ Raises the possibility of a Hailo run I suppose... very short trip from LCY not exceeding flagfall of £2.40 earns 100 miles = 2.4p / mile... (ETA just noticed the date on the blog is September 2015 - apologies if this old news, they just emailed me about their "exciting new partnership with British Airways Executive Club" and I did a quick search on the forum for Hailo, but didn't go back 4 months...) |
Pretty sure Hailo have a £10 minimum fare...
|
Similar to IB then.
|
The £10 minimum fare on Hailo is only during the morning rush hour IIRC.
I use Hailo all the time and have it linked to my Exec Club membership. The points get transferred to BA once a month it seems. I do find, however, that Hailo is a bit haphazard in transferring them. Each month several journeys are missing. It's a bit of a pain to keep reclaiming them and I have given up doing so bearing in mind that each missing transaction is usually for 5-20 Avios and there are only a few each month that don't come through. |
No minimum Hailo fare in London between 10am and 5pm weekdays. Presumably you could then take the same cab back to LCY (another airport transfer) and repeat all day...
|
If you register with Hailo in Spain (which you can do using the fake GPS app) and add your Iberia Plus number you can get 400 avios without booking a taxi!
|
I'm sure there's easier ways of getting 100 Avios than spending £2.40 - which are worth c. £1. I view this as like the SPG / Uber offer (after you've stayed), it's a nice way of getting points for something you do anyway
But I think the Avios on all journeys thing is new - I recall the Avios on airport journeys from before, but not all journeys |
Their website (or blog) says this only run until April 2016 (?)

I registered for the 1,000 Avios promotion and took my first trip on 9th February but I am yet to see the points credited to my account. Am I alone or are others waiting for the points?

Bump.
Now that Hailo is no more, do you still get Avios from Mytaxi? I was getting Avios from Hailo (albeit much delayed) up until the bitter end. Only a handful, but better than a slap in the face, and I preferred the interface and availability to Gett. Jury is still out on Mytaxi, tbh, but Gett's fixed fares may swing the pendulum back to them if there are no Avios to sweeten the deal. |
I haven't had any Avios yet from Mytaxi. This article says that they should still be awarded, although at the moment there's no way for new Mytaxi users to add their Avios account.
https://www.businesstraveller.com/bu...anding-london/ Note that I've had some great fixed fares on Mytaxi - from Islington to Heathrow T4 for £50 when Gett was offering £65. |
I messaged Hailo a while back and got this as reply:
Thanks for getting in touch. If you have previously registered your BA Exec number on Hailo, then you will continue to receive 1 point for each £1 spent. Please note that whilst we complete the migration the points may take up to 90 days to be applied to your account, but they will be added. |
Also to note: Hailo has been picked up by mytaxi, which will swallow it up in the coming weeks.
Presume that will affect the promo? |
