If you want fun, go to JFK's Facebook page. There is a photo of a JetBlue plane from about an hour ago. It's enlightening.

(I strongly suspect the delayed 1120 from LHR (super-J 744) will become the 1835 from JFK, but the return plainly isn't going to leave at 1835 since isn't expected to arrive until 1805 now.)
I believe there are currently 2 BA planes already at JFK. They were due to operate the 178 and 180 flights on Saturday that were delayed until Sunday which have subsequently been cancelled. I imagine that these aircraft will be used for the 18.35 service etc.

Lets be honest. It looks like a pile of snow with an aircraft behind it

217 on the 24th Cancelled. Have been auto rerouted via Boston (BA) and AA into DCA - slightly more inconvenient (destination is VA) but at least I'm getting there, in my original class. Just have to sort out hotel room and amuse myself in London for the day.

AA cancelled all flights certainly to London tomorrow (Sunday).

BA have cancelled the early ones and are showing some of them with a few hours delay.

annoyingly, BA178 on Monday is already showing a 90 mins delay (the 7.30am is on time but I preferred the 8.30am dept).

I am 20 miles east of JFK - still snowing and very windy.

Given the ridiculous amount of snow here, plus the big drifts, and the inevitable ice when some of it melts and then re-freezes tomorrow I would be very surprised if the airport is working by monday.
I am certainly no stranger to weather related JFK cancellations, and this is certainly the worst I have seen.
Wrap up warm guys!

How are you getting back to JFK from the hotel?

It has basically stopped snowing in NYC now.

Can't check-in for my flight. Not a good start.

DCA and IAD are closed tomorrow (24th) so you may want to look at the train if you need to be in DC on the 24th.

I suspect if BA 178 gets delayed much more it may have to be cancelled or instead delayed to a night flight -- isn't the lhr curfew such that no flights can land past about 11pm?

It's just stopped snowing over here, but so much has fallen in such a short time and risk of more forecast... That said there's now really good visibility for the first time today, and the blizzard has stopped - it's now looking quite pretty

This was Columbus Circle yesterday late on Friday afternoon:

And this is midtown now (after the snow ploughs have been through):

Just a leisure jaunt to stay with friends and no real plans but due to various issues can't postpone trip, sure everything will be fine on Monday. In a LHR hotel already, just need to confirm the room for Sunday pm, stock up at Marks at T5 and have a duvet day ( which is as rare as hens teeth in my world)
