SFO to TBS, as much with BA as possible?

So my wife wants to visit Georgia and I have been tasked to find her flights. Can I use a GUF1 for someone else? If so I guess I need to try to find flights SFO-LHR-DME, plus separate S7 flight DME-TBS and back.

Any of our regulars what combination of flights might work best?

Thanks!

Not a regular by a far mile, but any chance it would be better taking BA SFO-LHR-GYD (Baku), then transiting to a separate QR tag-on GYD-TBS or on Azerbaijan Airlines?

That is actually a good idea, S7 flies GYD-TBS too, I shall check into that.

SFO-LHR-GYD won't be doable on the same day. Same on the return.

How about Istanbul. Plenty of cheap and regular flights with Turkish and Pegasus to comple the journey.

To answer the GUF question, yes, you can use it for somebody else on a booking with BA, but you will need award space availability in the upgraded cabin. Experience of using it for somebody else via a travel agent has been less positive, unless you're on the same PNR as them.

You can use a GUF for someone else. You need to book it though and apply your GUF when you book.
