How does the GGL cancellation refund work?

If I book say for myself and others on the same booking and cancel, will the GGL fee waiver apply for the entire booking? Or is it linked to the GGL member?

What about booking for a single HHA member in a separate booking?

Edit: for Avios booking

Came through T5 earlier and was told GGLs have 6 guests into GF over the summer if you're all travelling on the same PNR.

No fee to cancel for the GGL or those in the same booking if the reservation is subsequently cancelled. This is a benefit for the GGL so if you make a reservation for someone else (and you are not travelling) then they should expect to pay the cancellation fee.

She said an email had gone out, but I didn't get one. She thought that's what I was doing as I approached the desk with my wife, two kids, mother and her husband, her first question was "oh you must be my first GGL taking us up on the six guest offer?"

My utterly bewildered face then let her know that wasn't the case.

GGL/Prem plus five family members

We have just checked in at the First Wing and I saw a notice on the check in desk which said (I think) that GGL and Premiers could bring up to five family members as guests at the First Wing and Flounge from Jul 23 to the beginning of Sept. I was reading upside down hence my uncertainty. Could a GGL plse confirm for me? It may be worth a tier point run or two for me.....

I can't believe at the most crowded lounge time of the year they'd allow five guests per GGL in the Flounge

Yes Wozza was saying the same thing on the GGL beginner thread yesterday so seems true.

Why not? If travelling with family then you won't be able to use the lounge if they restrict entry to usual 1 guest. Besides it may be less busy with fewer business travellers or they may find mostl travelling in CW that would make GC more busy.

If you think about this, mathematically it isn't too big a deal.

A GGL with large family will typically nominate the spouse to the complimentary Gold card.

Each person can bring up to 2 persons to Flounge.

So GGL + 2 family + GCH + 2 family = 6 in Flounge.

So mathematically this isn't any different?

not quite. The partner card GCH can only bring one guest, they don't get GGL privileges. So it would be one extra in your example.

Interesting. Do the lounge entry person actually (spend time to) check that you are all on the same PNR?
