I have a question about jokers. I used a joker in the course of my last EC year to book a return LHR-CPT. The outward has been flown (in the current year). The return has yet to be flown. I want to move the return to another date. it will need a joker. I don't want that to count as one of my jokers for this year. I wondered whether anyone had any experience of whether it would be expected to count?

Cheers

Assuming it's the same ticket then I think you should be able to reapply the same joker to a modified return date (subject to the usual availability and other joker criteria). I've never tried it but that would seem reasonable to me. Have a word with the GGL line and they should be able to confirm or otherwise.

Yes, no problem. The travel dates can be changed within the validity of the ticket using the same Joker.

During last night sweep, my tps were updated and I crossed the 5k mark. By the end of this week I should be close to 6k.
Now I need to start reading more about these perks and find a way to move into the ccr

Many thanks c-w-s and dylanks - the move up is nicely timed for my HKG trip tomorrow evening, an opportunity to sample the CCR under a J class ticket

Looks like it was a busy night for GGL elevation! Congrats Jason8612

Congratulations! The cabanas are recently refurbished...

I was on pace for about 12,000 TP this year, but luckily work travel has slowed down a bit and I may not even cross 6,000 when my year resets in April.

I'm not sure. I assumed that these events were limited to London-based GGL?

There's a separate thread about this. These events have been cancelled apparently. Shame, because I really enjoyed the one that I went to.

Notwithstanding the cost, which can't be insubstantial, I expect management also disliked spending time with some of the guests there (from what I saw at the last one I attended at least). There was a fair bit of overly enthuiastic geekery / pedantic whining which I'm sure they'd rather not spend their evening having to smile through...

🤓 "When will you be returning the flower to the first class loo, what variety of flower will it be and will the pilot come back check on it through the flight to ensure is hasn't been mistaken by one of the passengers for their missing amuse bouche?" 🤓

But are we not all geeky being on this forum?

What happened to the flower in the loo? I must of missed that thread.

Well old Chairman used to say they were more for the other halves who had to put up with their frequently absent FFs.... no doubt Mr Cruz feels differently about these events.

I do agree that there isn't a great deal to be obtained by putting a hundred or so strangers in a room, but it give access for a brief chat to senior management.

Not had a lunch invite, and not waiting with baited breath....

When this thread was started I read it out of interest; not for one second did I think I'd have anything to contribute to it!

But after using the knowledge I've gained from you lovely people I've just qualified as GGL for the first time

As a datapoint, the timing was:

Qualifying flight: Sunday
TP posted: Monday (surprised/impressed me as this was a bank holiday)
Status on website: Tuesday
Status on app: Wednesday
GGL and Concorde Room cards: Thursday

I thought this was incredibly efficient, particularly given the bank holiday.

The pack contains 2 x Golden Tickets which I don't think are mentioned in the guide (and I thought I read on another thread that these had been enhanced?) But I'm definitely not hallucinating them.

I also received two emails yesterday. One advising me about partner cards, and the second one welcoming me to Hilton Diamond with a link to activate membership.

All in all it's been a very slick experience.

Oh, and the lovely Lounge Angel at T5 Flounge allowed me to take two guests in rather than one based on the number of TP on my app ^

Wow... very efficient... I crossed the 5000 mark but NO welcome email. Only one about Partner cards. NO Hilton... anyone know how I can upgrade my Hilton status as I'm staying in one next week.
