No, what it shows is correct. Her previous membership year has just finished and her new year runs until Sep 24. Status, however, continues until the end of the month after the membership year ends - so she is GGL until 31 Oct 23, after which she will drop to Gold (based on TPs acquired in the last year).

Same. Two of the last three times in the past fortnight it hasnt shown on my ex-LHR printed BP, nor on the system. The middle time when it did work there was a message welcoming me to GGL, despite being for many years. GGL email confirmed everything is fine their end.

1. The AA system (if you go to an AAgent at the Chelsea) apparently won't show GGL/"BA VIP" status for anyone who earned it beyond a certain date- I think possibly some time in 2019 or 2020?
2. The BA system won't correctly show GGL status on a printed boarding pass if the flight was booked within the past 48hrs or if you checked in online before you get it printed (but should still appear on the BA system).
Some GGL's get a red cross when they try to enter the CCR but the agent will see a box asking them about the family entry policy so will know you are GGL and can be let in or if they click on your details can determine your status correctly.
This doesn't seem to happen to me (although I have only really recently started paying attention to what is on the screen), but at least have never been asked to show a card or prove my status once the BP is scanned.
Getting them to actually scan the BP, however, can occasionally be a challenge, depending upon who is on the door...!
I realise that these factors may not explain your experiences.
If not, I am not sure why other than to say there are obviously some changes behind the scenes which are allowing "Group 0" to appear on JFK/BOS boarding passes.
It's possible that your status is showing it is just that for some reason the Agent didn't know how to see it, although it would seem a bit unusual for someone stationed at the CCR or the Chelsea.

Sounds like not much to do about it.

Turn right out of the lifts and walk up to the BA agent at the first desk.
They can usually sort out any questions on access I have found.

Quick (noob) question on renewing GGL.
I just hit 3,000 TP with an October year end (November card expiration).
The App does show that I retained GGL but the card expiry is still Nov 2023.
Am I right in assuming that everything else (jokers, new card, partner cards) Ill only get once the current membership year is officially over?
My parents have a trip in late September and I was considering nominating one of them for Gold so they have lounge access.
This is the first time Im renewing any BAEC status, so dont have any experience :P

Yes so when you renew your card will only update at year end - so 9 October. You will only get a new set of partner cards to give on 9 October.

Quick question on GGL member using partners AMEX voucher and Avios
I can see from a few older posts that a GGL should be able to make an AMEX 2-4-1 booking using their partners AMEX voucher, as long as the GGL member is a nominee on the partners account. Does this also allow (or imply?) that the required Avios are taken from the partners Avios balance? Currently we dont have a household account setup and I simply want to book the joint ticket using my wifes voucher and Avios, but in my name in case we decide to amend or cancel it

Can someone check my logic please? I have a companion voucher plus GUF1 and, a joker I want to use to open up availability for all 4 people to DUB-LHR-HND return. Dates are flexible.
2 will be in F using CV and 2 in CW using GUF1, using joker to get availability, is there likely to be any issues with this?

Hi everyone, I verified today with an agent that you can combine a space release /joker with barclays upgrade voucher(s), so you can save considerable avios that way.

No question this time - just my last day today for me as a GGL zombie (!) after not requalifying a month or so ago, so just a short message to thank everyone in this thread for their much-appreciated help in answering various questions (and especially) dylanks for starting this thread).
Still possible though that I will requalify in a couple of years (a final push for GFL is still needed after all ...). As a resident here in China a lot depends though on when (hopefully rather than if) China-US flights are fully renormalized (in case anyone is not aware there are still ongoing "issues" in terms of flight approvals ...). Without those regular trips to the US, being able to hit 5000 TPs again to requalify is not going to happen without more effort than I can muster (at least if I can't sort out a sabbatical back in the UK so I can enjoy some BA holiday action
).
Safe and smooth travels to all!
