Castelnau is apparently also served in the First cabin nowadays.

I had that at Gatwick F last year, and it was excellent. Sadly no chance of a repeat this: if I've read it correctly Wolf Blass Yellow Label is typical of the offerings in the sorry sub for a BA lounge at Gatwick

Be grateful. I first got it on the ground at HKG and then again in the air. When I asked if it was the LPGS I expected, I was first told it was. Only when I sent out the almost full glass and asked for a Coke instead did they admit that it wasn't LPGS and brought me a glass of the real deal.

Well, let's put it in simple terms - you expect a Coke with ice and a lemon and you get water out of the Hudson with floating bits in it. That's about how the two compares. Kind of hard to miss even if you don't know the first thing about champagne (or coke for that matter...).

Well rather pleasant surprise in GF today. Have not been here for a while as CCR was available most recent Fridays.

The Tattinger is now the 2008, and it drinks rather nicely! 2008 is promising to be a highly rated vintage in Champagne.

It should be LPGS.

However when flying back there can be some supply problems. Returning from Miami recently I was given Lanson Black Label. And they only had a couple of bottles for the journey even of that. Luckily there were some other nice items to choose from so I wasn't too bothered,

I had Collet on my SEA-LHR back in Nov. The crew was quite impressed that I could identify it. However, I had seen a bottle of it on an earlier flight when I was in CW, and Tobias-UK told me here on FT that BA sometimes has it as a PDB, so I took a lucky guess.

LPGS usually from LHR - whatever they have to hand on the return it seems! 🍾

Have they switched away from Monopole in CE? I am pretty sure I had some sort of Castelnau on Sunday.

Yes that's what has been discussed on here. I haven't tried it, but hear it is not bad and an improvement on the dreaded monopole

I concur with those before me and confirm I too find it a considerable improvement on the previous offering.

For lovers of Old World wines, this afternoon is great in T5 GF. For me the best is a Corton Charlemagne Grand Cru Pierre Andre 2012. Following closely behind, two good Clarets:- Chateau Lagrange 2007 and Chateau Dauzac 2008.

Have taken the view that work can wait until tomorrow!
