Check in and bag drop deadline at MAD
 

Afternoon all,

I can't seem to find this information anywhere. Does BA check-in at MAD close at -45, or earlier? IB's website implies that the IB deadline is -45.

Any experience of this would be appreciated. I haven't made a booking yet, so can't check MMB.

According to MMB for my upcoming BA flight from Madrid it closes 55 minutes before departure. I'm not all that surprised as it's a long way from check-in to T4S.

It's 55 minutes for T4S, so all BA operated flights. IB operated flights and City Flyer flights out of T4 main are 45 minutes. If you have an IB A340, it will be out of T4S and subject to the 55 minute cutoff.

BA is T-55 (TBC for LCY flights), IB is T-45 assuming it's from T4 to LHR/LGW, T-55 for the once daily A340 flight that departs from 4S.

While it may be some distance - akin to T5C - it is possible to do bag drop to past T4S passport control in less than 15 minutes. I have done that route loads of times and had the process of which security gate to clear and which train carriage to take all (the one that stops right opposite the escalators) in the name of completing the process as efficiently as possible down to a routine :cool:
