This 2015/16 thread is now closed. The 2017 thread is:
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1818553-premium-fare-deals-j-f-2017-edition.html

A collaborative collection and discussion of nice Avios-earning and TP-earning J & F premium fare deals. This thread is not for TP runs or published sales.
Some links to relevant threads can be found below.

Enjoy your Premium Experience.

FIRST CLASS - RTM/AMS/BRU to West Coast (SFO, SAN, YVR, SEA) starting at £2330... (just click on the book with American link to get the good price. )
Oneworld: Italy and various EU to New York in club €1250
CONSOLIDATED QR 2017 Travel Festival Fares
Current QR Sale Fares (yes, I did...)
QR/UL FRA-MLE via DOH+CMB: 1380€ RT across the board. 640 TP.
Switzerland/Italy/Sweden to East & West Coast USA in WTP (PE) €600/690 (3x Avios)
LHR-Asia/Oz for £1100/1500 on MH
Finnair J, ARN / GOT - BKK, 1150 GBP return (valid till Jan 9th)
TXL and Portugal to JNB for £1350/1450 on BA discussed from post 5021 onwards..

For promos to the US (often, but TP heavy routes in general) it is always a good idea to look at BA Tier Point Runs 2017 master thread. Current sales are often in the Wiki there.

Most if not all of the BA mistake fares were copied from the Mileage Run Deals forum where they appeared first. They were allowed to run so I see nothing wrong with having this thread.

Although the cryptic stuff isn't my cup of tea I'm sure it would be popular amongst others.

Maybe it is because I recently discovered the extreme value of the collective wisdom in these threads that I figured a thread specialised in premium fares, ex UK/EU for BAEC members would be extremely appreciated. I think this is the busiest part of FT after the MR section but many people stay here only.

So I figured people like me (and others) who do find some good deals that are not qualified as a TP run and maybe hard to find in the other forum sections, could share them in a central place.

Also, here we appreciate that FRA-IAD or FRA-LAX in F for GBP 2500 and 3000 respectively. They may not be the deal of the century, but enough people fly the route to think it may be worth it to sit in F on an A380. Would perhaps not get attention in the MR forum. OSL-OGG in F for GBP 2800 anyone ?

MR is more about cpm and TP run is about TPs. Makes sense ?

And again we debate a thread instead of simply using it as proposed. If nobody has anything to offer or nobody wants to read it, it will disappear by itself. No need to police it.

To be fair, I think what henkybaby was suggesting was at least 'democratic' in that everyone could see it. Much like the 'trick-it' thread everything is hidden in plain sight and after a few pages the references eventually become obscure enough that an airline lurker wouldn't immediately know what is being discussed but those who frequent this place might. Even those who lurk a lot but don't want to post much for whatever reason would not be at any more of a disadvantage than anyone else.

It was a last-ditch attempt to deal with what BA now see as uncontested right to cancel anything that is well-priced and attracts a significant number of bookings. As a community we probably could have made it work. But obviously the preference is for FTers who find these fares in future just to PM them to the glitterati.

I think it probably would be. I also think it would have more chance of gaining traction in the Premium Fare Deals zone. Much of what is there is already about "good deal" J and F fares rather than having a narrow focus on TPs or cpm.

Suggestion: ask mods to (1) add "for BAEC members" to the thread title and (2) move it. Then add links to appropriate places here (wikis, dashboard, "Sale" threads...).

I think the thread would be useful here - the Viking, Bratwurst etc fares were put up in two separate threads in this forum and the Premium Fares forum and I for one would be interested to see deals that aren't necessarily crazy cheap but would be worthwhile for people to know about.

And I do agree they need to be concealed somewhat. Fares that are obvious e**ors will turn up on the Premium Fares forum anyway and I doubt they would be put in a specific thread, they would end up getting their own thread.

Just my 2p, henky great thread idea! ^

Premium Fare deals (J and F)

Thanks for this, henk. I don't often check the sale thread but just happened to on Viking morning. I doubt having a thread like this would have had it shut down any sooner.

So what is a good deal, a sale, a TP run, a mistake fare? And is this BA only or OW?

And good luck with mods on cross-posting rules

How many of these examples are just being lifted from the good deal premium fares thread? Maybe just stick a link as a sticky at the top of the BA forum?

That one's easy: "for BAEC members". TP and Avios earning. The others are more subjective.

Critiquing is so much easier than contributing, don't you find ?

Those on the Premium Fares are checked for validity and links to booking sites provided.

Others I have found myself.

So, what is your brilliant contribution for today, except finding fault with others ?

From a personal perspective, I think starting the thread with information that is already elsewhere is a good idea and adds immediate value. Going forward will be new stuff hopefully
